This restaurant is very good. I suggest booking a table, the staff is very kind and the environment is beautiful with many photos of a truly beautiful Milan. the food was delicious, the risotto is perfect, the ossobuco is also the cutlet and don't forget to drink the good house wine. a nice place to experience the whole Milanese experience. I suggest it

A great Milanese classic that I try again after many years.
The place was packed, but they served us quickly. Both cutlets were excellent, the saffron risotto with ossobuco however, was not the best I tried in Milan. The rice was cooked perfectly, but a little bland, and the meat a little dry.
However, we had a good time. Competitive and lower prices than other places.

Historic place in Milan that recently changed management but has remained faithful, for better or for worse, to its vocation. The menu and the quality of the food are good. Well the appropriate price. The usual background noise given by the poorly sound-absorbing walls is bad...

Trattoria Madonnina is exactly what you’d expect: solid, traditional food without any big surprises. The atmosphere is pleasantly rustic, the dishes are good, but there’s nothing that really sets it apart from other trattorias in Milan. Not a disappointment, but not a must-visit either—just a reliable, classic spot.

Ah, a Milanese institution, or so it seems, judging by the sheer, elbow-to-elbow crush of humanity that descends upon it every day. We, by some stroke of luck (or perhaps a well-placed, charming smile), snagged a table at 7pm, a feat I wouldn't recommend attempting without a reservation. The place vibrates with a kind of frenetic energy, the staff a well-oiled machine, deftly managing the throngs with impressive efficiency. They are efficient, and they need to be, as the place is a popular location for a reason.
The food, overall, delivers. The veal tongue starter, with its verdant garnish, was a bold, almost confrontational experience, a bit too "farmyard" for my delicate sensibilities. However, the risotto, a saffron-tinged masterpiece studded with sausage and cheese, more than made up for it. It was a plate of pure, unadulterated comfort, a subtle symphony of flavors that danced on the palate. And the pork Milanese? A hefty, golden slab of crispness, a testament to the city’s culinary pride. It was a generous portion, and very well executed. Madonnina is a place where the atmosphere is as much a part of the experience as the food, a bustling, vibrant slice of Milanese life. Just remember to book. Or, you know, perfect your charming smile.

The place is simple and without frills, with an atmosphere that conveys authenticity and tradition. We tried two different appetizers, risotto alla milanese, tagliolini, cotoletta and purée with roast gravy: each dish was really excellent, faithful to tradition and well executed.
However, the service left much to be desired. The waiters gave the impression of doing a favor by serving the customers and we had to ask for the same things several times. Towards the end of the meal, moreover, they were in such a hurry to tidy up the room that we were not even asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, implicitly inviting us to sit outside.
Too bad, because the cuisine deserves the best.
The quality-price ratio is in line with expectations, indeed, in some respects it is convenient considering the large portions.

Location molto carina da tipica trattoria milanese. Posto super affollato con un rumore infernale tale da non poter nemmeno fare una telefonata. Ma passiamo al cibo : mondeghili appena sufficienti, molto secchi e per ammorbidirli un poco serviti con una maionese allo zafferano. Trippa decorosa anche se con pezzi di patate cosa che non esiste in nessuna ricetta di trippa alla milanese ( messe forse per addensare il tutto ). Prezzi non proprio convenienti. Vino rosso della casa quasi imbevibile. Porzioni devo dire abbondanti. Ragazza che serve ai tavoli carina e veloce. Questa mia prima volta non è andata bene. Da riprovare per risotti e cotoletta. Devo ammettere che il locale era strapieno e quindi gli incassi saranno sicuramente molto elevati ed oggi forse è quello che conta più del far bene da mangiare e vedere i clienti uscire con il sorriso.
