Trattoria l'Avvolgibile In Roma

I rarely give top marks, but this trattoria looks like something out of a book. Excellent, authentic, family-style food, freshly prepared as you'd expect from this type of place. Service is friendly and fast, but never rushed. Excellent!!

Fantastic experience! This is my second time at this restaurant and I was once again satisfied! Excellent carbonara, extraordinary Avvolgibile steak, and to top off the evening, a superb homemade tiramisu! I'll definitely be back. Unfortunately, due to the deliciousness of the dishes, I wasn't able to take photos; I'll be posting them soon!

Excellent experience. In a warm and well-kept restaurant, you'll be greeted with warmth and friendliness by all the staff. We ate excellent traditional Roman food, cooked and served perfectly. We ate artichokes alla giudia, coratella, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, fettuccine with artichokes and guanciale, and chicken cacciatore, all truly delicious. Highly recommended.

Good but overpriced for what the restaurant is...

A fine dining destination just steps from the Alberone market. A retro location, with a splash of modernity on the walls. Spartan tables without tablecloths or cloth napkins. Typical Roman dishes, cooked with care and love. Both the supplì al telefono and the meatballs in tomato sauce were delicious, as were the mozzarella in carrozza, beans with pork rinds, and giblets. The first course was superb in flavor and the harmony of the seasonings, even if slightly overcooked. As for the second courses, the oxtail stew and the sea bream fillet were excellent, while the breaded steak, while tasty, was a bit tough. A small constructive criticism: the dishes were slightly under-salted. Sautéed chicory and baked potatoes were a perfect complement to the dishes. The house white wine made the dishes easier to digest. The desserts were delicious, both the crème brulee and the ricotta and sour cherry dessert. To finish, coffee was brought to the table with a mocha pot and a nice dose of after-dinner drink. The service was courteous and efficient. The bill was reasonable for what we ate.

The landlady from whom we rent our apartment recommended this place to us… The reviews were rather low, around 4.0… but it’s actually a really, really good restaurant — the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. What probably lowers their rating is the climate… The location isn’t the best. I think an additional plus is that this place is visited mainly by locals — we were the only foreign guests. We ordered sea bream and something that looked like pork knuckle. It was absolutely delicious. So if you want to eat well, you won’t be disappointed. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

Sublime experience. Exceptional food, cooked with simplicity and mastery. Courteous, prompt service and a family atmosphere make this a fantastic location. Recommended for refined palates. We will definitely return.

I've been there several times, both for lunch and dinner. Environment for both a quick lunch and a convivial dinner, with friends or family. Young staff, traditional and non-traditional dishes. Coffee at the end of the meal with the mocha,... what can I tell you!
