Given that I ate well and the portions were decent, I still recommend asking for the menu with prices first. Arriving at the counter and finding out that starters are €14 (€12 was more than the right price) and desserts are €5 (€4 was more than the right price) is a bit excessive for such a basic restaurant. But very basic and spartan... and we travel a lot in the Modena area, so the comparison is based on facts. They're nice, enthusiastic young people, but in our opinion, some of the prices could be reduced.

It's like an old tavern. Excellent borlenghi, average crescentine, greasy fried gnocco. Low-quality cured meats.

If you want to taste real Modenese borlenghi, made by a Modenese, you can't go wrong here. The homemade pasta and dessert trolley are also excellent.
