Trattoria la Pace In Rocca san casciano

Abbiamo mangiato in questa fantastica Osteria nella quale il tempo sembra essersi fermato negli anni ‘60. Arredamento vintage, per chi ama il genere, lo apprezzerà tantissimo. Il locale non è per chi ama i ristoranti stellati… dimenticateveli… qui la genuinità è la protagonista. La pasta viene tirata al momento e ti sembra di tornare a casa di nonna. Abbiamo assaporato la carrellata di antipasti che ci sono stati serviti: focaccia all’uva (spaziale!!!), verdure sott’olio, tortelli alla lastra con zucca e patate, salumi di vario tipo, formaggi stagionati, crostini di beccaccia… tutto, tutto buonissimo! Complimenti! Tutto fatto in casa! Chi scrive che i salumi puzzano non sa distinguere un salume di qualità e fatto in casa da quelli industriali. I primi, tagliatelle ai funghi e tortelli alle erbe con ragù di cortile, erano buonissimi. Abbiamo assaggiato anche il capretto al forno ed era morbidissimo. Per finire i dolci, cantucci e vin santo e panpepato: eccezionali! Ciliegie e castagne sotto spirito e caffè completano un pranzo delizioso. Ci torneremo sicuramente e consiglio a tutti di non leggere le recensioni negative, non sono assolutamente meritate. Complimenti, continuate così!

If you arrive at this restaurant, forget about the starred locations and the five-star service, but think about going back in time, both for the environment and for the flavors. Had lunch on Sunday. What can I say, a wonderful place... stuck 50 years ago. There is a familiar air of the trattorias of the past. Kind regards. The pasta maker that prepares the pasta in sight. Excellent cold cuts and cheeses. Wine in a flask. All in a friendly atmosphere from times gone by. Excellent food. Coffee with mocha, homemade desserts. It was not a simple lunch with good food but a dive into a truly particular atmosphere that is being lost these days. Price not cheap but worth everything else.

Everything is too good, from starters to desserts. The first courses are excellent, in this period of mushrooms and truffles, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and tortelloni with truffle (strictly white). Divine roast pigeon....it's like a sweet surprise: very fresh sheep's ricotta with honey, poached with sambuca made by them!!! Try it...you'll be back for sure! I forgot: open kitchen and the pasta maker who prepares the pasta in the dining room!
