One of the best "tradional" style meals of the region I've ever had. If your in the Campobasso city area make sure to eat here. Make sure to make reservations as this place is packed all week. Wine and food very reasonably priced! Can't recommend them enough.

We came for lunch and ordered: an appetizer of roasted caciocavallo cheese with salad and figs, a plate of zucchini flowers (five), a first course of Crioli pasta with short rib and parmesan sauce, and another dish of pizza and soup. We also ordered a bottle of water and a quart of red wine. Total: €41.
It's best to arrive early and, if possible, reserve a table, because the kitchen can slow down a bit with the crowds. The wait isn't too long, but it can fill up quickly.
Recommended: I ate very well! 🥰🥰

La Grotta di Zi' Concetta in Campobasso is a rustic and welcoming trattoria in the heart of the historic center. The atmosphere is intimate and familiar, serving traditional Molise dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Try the cheese and egg balls, the spaghetti with cauliflower and crusco peppers, and the homemade desserts. Friendly service and excellent value. Highly recommended for an authentic experience.

We were a group of 12 last night with reservations.
The guy, who wasn't waiting tables, had to improvise as a waiter because the attendant wasn't there, so the service wasn't impeccable. The dishes arrived, but we didn't have any plates. The bread ran out while we were eating, and some dishes weren't enough.
The place is small but really delicious, and the food was all excellent.

Una certezza di qualità, di cose buone, di profumi. Cinque amici per pranzo se la scialano. Taccozzelle alla vignaiola con fave, piselli, cicoria, porro, carciofo; crioli con fagiolini, pomodorini, erbe varie; pallotte al sugo, finocchio gratinato con mille profumi, zucchine fritte super deliziose. Dolci da pulire indecentemente i piatti. Servizio veloce ed il prezzo assolutamente onesto comprende la genziana.
