Wonderful location, excellent food. I especially like it in the winter; it has a special charm. One of the best trattorias, and it's no coincidence that it's been open for over 60 years.

We stopped by chance in this typical Tuscan trattoria. Differently from what I read in some reviews: - we found the service excellent, not formal but attentive, kind, appropriate for the type of place. - the house appetizer not excellent, the fried chicken equally so, the ravioli or tortelli too spicy seasoned with an excellent meat sauce. More than abundant portions. Pleasant environment with a large parking lot. Fair quality/price ratio.

A spectacular place for those looking for an authentic Tuscan food and culture experience outside the traditional tourist spots! The place is full of families, with large families and hearty dishes. The service was incredibly attentive, offering excellent guidance and tips, even though we struggled with English. We had vegetable raviolini and a Peposo accompanied by a portion of breaded mushrooms! Congratulations on your work, and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who visits!

Disappointing Experience at Ristorante Trattoria La Corteccia We were looking forward to dining at this restaurant and arrived at 6:30 PM, only to be told by the staff that they would open at 7:30 PM and that we should reserve a table. We did as advised and returned at 7:30 PM, but unfortunately, the experience from there was disappointing. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in the middle of the room—right next to a cupboard used for storing dishes, glasses, and napkins. Throughout our meal, staff members were constantly walking back and forth next to our table to retrieve items, which was very distracting and made the dining experience uncomfortable. There were only 3–4 other tables occupied, all by local guests, and we couldn’t help but feel that tourists like us were treated differently. The staff came across as unfriendly and inattentive to our needs, giving the impression that foreign guests were not particularly welcome. Additionally, the restroom was in poor condition—dirty and with a strong smell of hairspray as a female staff member was using it to fix her hair, making it hard to breathe in such a small space. Sadly, this visit did not meet our expectations, and we left feeling disappointed. We hope the management takes feedback like this seriously to improve the experience for all guests in the future.

A true gem of authentic Tuscan comfort food. The in-season fried porcini mushrooms and tortelli ragu were delicious but the balsamic steak was truly next-level divine. I couldn’t help but scarpetta the sauce with bread at the end. I’m stuffed.
