Trattoria La Botte In Badolato

Beautiful location and very kind owner. We ate an excellent tagliatella with porcini mushrooms, an appetizer of cured meats and cheeses, house wine, water, coffee, €35. We will be back!

Today, December 23, 2025, I had lunch at the LA BOTTE restaurant. The flavors were unique and delicious, just like they used to be. Antonio is very accommodating. It was like having lunch with family. A heartfelt thank you to people like Antonio who keep the service for tourists alive.

On vacation in Calabria, in the first weeks of September, we decided to try this Trattoria, in the beautiful village of Bedolato. I called to make a reservation and, as the owner recommended, I agreed to dinner. The Trattoria is located on a street in the historic center. You can park in the main square and after a few meters you reach the building that houses the restaurant, set in rooms with characteristic barrel vaults, which, like the furnishings, make you understand that you are in a Trattoria that has made authenticity and local tradition its trademark. The manager who served us on this occasion was helpful, friendly, and never intrusive or over the top. After describing the menu of dishes made with genuine ingredients, as well as the good house red wine, we settled on a Calabrian-style appetizer, excellent and varied, followed by two tagliatelle with mushrooms, delicious and where you could really taste the mushrooms, followed by a stuffed eggplant dish and a lamb dish, and second courses topped with delicious and flavorful green beans. Water, good house wine, and finally a truly delicious Limoncello. We were more than satisfied with the price/quality ratio, and I can only highly recommend it if you're in Bedolato Borgo or are in the vicinity. It's worth a visit.

After exploring Badolato, we stopped at Trattoria Tipica La Botte, where we were treated to homemade specialties: pasta (Tagliatelle), gnocchi, and melanzane ripiene. Everything tasted delicious. We recommend it.

We were on vacation in Calabria in August. We discovered this wonderful restaurant almost by accident! High-quality traditional food, exceptional hospitality, and finally, I highly recommend trying both the limoncello and the amaro, both made on-site with meticulous attention to detail! Ask the owner for more details and he'll help you savor their delicious flavors to the fullest!

Wow what a meal. The host was just amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Even though we spoke very little Italian, we got the gist of the set course menu. And it was one of the best meals we had in Italy! The mushroom gnocchi was just amazing. The porcini mushrooms were so juicy we had never had anything like it before. A real highlight of our trip. The stuffed eggplant was so yummy, and the house wine was great. The price was just crazy, 57 euros for my son and I for a 3 course meal including wine.

This trattoria is perfect if you want a truly traditional experience: a few dishes, but made as they once were. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Greetings from the guys from Rome.

Posto perfetto, locale accogliente, familiare. Il proprietario è gentilissimo, un calabrese doc, appassionato del lavoro che fa. Il cibo è ottimo, sapori autentici, strettamente legato alla tradizione, pochi piatti ma preparati e cucinati con passione dalla mamma del proprietario. Ci tornerei sicuramente e lo consiglio vivamente.
