The Il Paesello trattoria is one of those old-fashioned places that literally drive me and my partner crazy. We started with a mixed house starter, which included courgettes au gratin, a cold salad made up of mozzarella, breadcrumbs and other vegetables, various mixed fried meatballs and meatballs, "panzanella", parmigiana, peppers and pickled aubergines. grilled oil and other rustic appetizers. Once we finished the appetizers we ordered a first course each, specifically gnocchi in sauce with meatballs, very traditional but very good, while the other first course I think doesn't belong to this world: scialatielli with liquorice, nduja and caciocavallo Silano. I don't think I've ever eaten such a good first course in my life, and I'm obviously not exaggerating. To accompany everything, half a liter of house wine, water for both and coffee to finish. Total price €45, considering the portions and the quality of the food, I would spend it every time I happen to return to Cosenza.

They know how to make pasta well! We had paccheri with sauce with meatballs and scialatelli with cheese and liquorice sauce, both amazing. We have to make a note on the menu, in fact we don't think it's correct to put the various types of meatballs and other dishes such as sausage and broccoli in the side dishes. In our opinion they go into the latter; If we had seen them earlier we would have chosen them instead of an anonymous shin. Friendly and appreciated service. The cellar stops at a few local labels, but it can be accepted as it is a Trattoria.
