Il locale si trova in zona Stagno, poco prima di Livorno. Propone una cucina tradizionale a base di pesce con un menù estremamente basso. Ho mangiato un antipasto misto e degli spaghetti allo scoglio estremamente saporiti ed abbondanti. Il locale è frequentatissimo per via dell'ottimo rapporto tra qualità e prezzi davvero bassi. Il servizio è cordiale ed efficiente e nonostante il volume di lavoro i camerieri si fanno in quattro per accontentarvi.

Il Deserto is one of those restaurants that those who really love fish know well. We come here often, and every time it's a confirmation: very high quality, real flavors and no-frills cuisine, where the raw material is the absolute protagonist. The spaghetti with seafood is a must — rich, well balanced and with a seafood flavor that doesn't lie. The frying is among the best I've ever tried: dry, crunchy, light.
The staff is always welcoming and makes you feel at home, with that familiarity that only authentic places can offer.
If you are looking for a restaurant where you eat "real" fish, with generosity and respect for tradition, Il Deserto is a safe choice!

Sono stato in questa locanda per pranzo. E’ impressionante la mole di persone in fila sia per entrare sia per uscire pagando e bevendo il caffè. E’ ovvio che si mangi bene. Le porzioni non sono nemmeno così abbondanti per vedere tutti quegli operai a pranzo. Si ordina leggendo da una lavagna al muro. E si viene “accatastati” dove c’è posto, anche con più persone per tavolo. Il servizio non è proprio come da Cracco; e qualche cameriere ha una ignoranza invidiabile con i clienti. Comunque il conto è veramente conveniente. Se uno vuole mangiare nella norma, veloce, spendendo poco e’ il posto ideale.
