Finally, after 30 days of trying (always sold out), I managed to book a lunch at Mrs. Velis's now-famous "panissa." With six other couples of friends, we confirmed this excellence, followed by boiled meat with vegetables, not to mention appetizers and dessert, which concluded the meal accompanied by a Barbera wine and a final glass of limoncello. It's been years since I've eaten at a restaurant where you can feel at home and time seems to stand still. The food is delicious and homemade, cooked by the owner who personally presents the dishes. You can usually choose between two first courses and two second courses, and if you opt for the full meal, including dessert and house wine, the price is unbeatable. I recommend it to anyone who wants traditional food and wants to try many typical local dishes.

I had lunch yesterday at this rustic trattoria with a group of 19, a fixed menu, and a modest price (20 euros). My companions ate excellent panissa (I'm diabetic, so rice is forbidden; the very kind cook served me agnolotti with tomato sauce), boiled meat and head with spinach, cotechino with beans, a fruit and chocolate cake, and coffee, water, and wine included. The portion of panissa was very generous, the second helping equally generous, and the other portions were average. The service was prompt, the staff very friendly, and the food was good and well-cooked. The only small flaw was the noise from the conversation, given that the place was full, and as the wine was gradually being poured into the bottles, the cheerfulness increased! If you love authentic Piedmontese cuisine and a family-style, down-to-earth atmosphere, this is the place for you.
