Entering this trattoria is like stepping back in time, eating homemade dishes from the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines! The owner jokes with everyone and tries to get everyone to know each other, as if it were a real convivial tavern...a wonderful experience!

This trattoria, nestled at the end of a road in a remote mountain village, has a great location. Excellent food and a great experience. The owner is very friendly and entertains customers with amusing jokes. I found the best mascarpone cream for dessert; having tried it at several restaurants, this was the best. I highly recommend going there to try this best dessert in all of Emilia Romagna!

As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by Larry, and you immediately realize you're in a trattoria unlike any other. Lunch goes wonderfully thanks to Larry and the entire staff, who put you at ease and make you feel truly at home, like an old friend. The food is truly delicious (special mention for the porcini mushrooms), and when it comes to dessert (assuming you have any room left), you can't miss their specialty: "la Bagigia"...devastating. All this, and all at a surprisingly good price. It's absolutely advisable to book, otherwise you risk not getting a seat.

A cheerful Ferragosto lunch with phenomenal service. Superlative tortellini and torta bagigia, excellent ravioli and main course sauces, and the lasagna needs work. A warm place, you'll want to return!

Ristorante Trattoria La Grotta dal 1918 "da Bruna & Figli"

12/11/2025: We were here a year ago and had to come back. Complements to the chef and the staff. Your passion shines through in the homely yet elevated food, the attention to detail and the warm hospitality. Highly recommend the pastas and any of the antipasti options. We had the grilled chicken this time but the Guinea Fowl last time, all is excellent.
10/11/2025: This restaurant is one of my all-time favorites! I usually go in the summer because I love their terrace, but this time I went in the fall and still found the atmosphere welcoming, refined, yet warm. The dishes are exquisite, revisiting tradition with a focus on authenticity. I don't eat meat, and the chef prepared a delicious vegetarian version of one of their dishes (there are, however, several vegetarian and vegan options). The wine is excellent, which is essential for me. Last, but not least, are the kindness of the owner and his staff.

20/11/2025: A small but traditional place, warm and welcoming. Excellent food, and the staff are quick and attentive.
17/11/2025: Possibly one of the best meals in Bologna. It was done very clean, simple, fresh in the best way. We ordered the tortellini soup, tagliatelle ragu, and pork dish, tomato salad on the side, and the best mascarpone all for sharing. Wine selection was top notch we got a Sangiovese romagna red wine. Thank you to Francesca for the best service, for being so intentional i. Making sure our orders were split into two to avoid any mess and the great food wine suggestions for me and my dad. Would definitely come back
