My husband and I were looking for a place to eat in the Karst region and found this delightful and refined inn. The restaurant has been run by the same family for six generations; it's a magical place that exudes history and goodness. The innkeepers, especially the young woman in the dining room, are incredibly friendly, and we chatted extensively about the history of this border town.
We ordered cod meatballs with asparagus and mayonnaise, a platter of traditional cured meats, crepe tagliatelle with onion puree and fried spring onion, cod stew, roast pork with pepper cream and potatoes in tecia: everything was excellent, some very unusual but delicious! We finished with a traditional dessert whose name I can't remember, also very good.
The young woman in the dining room recommended a wine based on what we'd ordered; we chose a classic Friulano and a Scioppettino, both truly perfect!
The bill was reasonable for what we ate and drank.
Highly recommend!!!

We stayed at the hotel as a tour group for three nights and ate dinner in the restaurant three times. Our room was in perfect condition and extremely clean! The decor is rustic, but very high-quality – antique, solid wood furniture. The bed was excellent. Our room was a bit dark, but that meant it was cool in the summer. There are no balconies or terraces, but there is a garden with tables and benches that invite you to enjoy a glass of wine. The restaurant didn't feel like an ordinary restaurant to us. It's more like visiting friends and being treated like royalty. The hospitality, the warmth, and the love for wine and excellent local produce are truly evident here! The dishes were absolutely superb! We tried the tasting menu with wine pairings, as well as individual dishes. The Slow Food and Michelin recommendations are well-deserved. The dishes with their strong flavors are perfectly complemented by the intensely flavorful wines! Those who prefer German or French white or rosé wines might be initially surprised, as the Friulian wines offered are very characterful. However, when paired with the food, they are excellent! I ate by far the best braised lamb shoulder of my life here. Perhaps simple, but simply incredibly good! Thank you for spending time with you!

We had a pleasant evening. The service was prompt, and the staff were very friendly and unobtrusive. The price was fair, commensurate with the service and the excellent quality of the dishes.

I'd been meaning to dine at this historic restaurant for a while, and the opportunity came during a visit to the splendid Basaglia exhibition in Gorizia. Like all interesting places, it's not easy to get to, but once you arrive, it offers all the beauty and goodness you've been looking for. Traditional dishes are expertly prepared, sometimes with a sublime twist. There's an excellent selection of wines by the glass (I think the most extensive I've ever seen in a restaurant), as well as beers and, for those who still have some, spirits, as if there were no tomorrow, as if there were no tortuous road back (you can, however, stay there). The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. A highly recommended experience.

Located in a secluded but easily accessible location. Good quality cuisine featuring regional products with a modern twist, and especially for local wines, a well-stocked cellar. Service is competent and discreet. Prices aren't quite like an inn. Nice dining room, but nothing memorable. Excellent cleanliness, easy parking inside the building. Perhaps our very high expectations have led me to give it 4 stars rather than 5, but it's always a matter of personal taste.

An unprecedented culinary experience...this was my first time at Lokanda Devetak. I had lunch there with my family and we were all satisfied. The place is warm and welcoming; as soon as you enter, you're enveloped in a homely, family-like atmosphere, reminiscent of times gone by. You can immediately sense from the delicate and inviting aromas wafting from the kitchen that excellent dishes await you. In fact, each menu item is better than the last, each one more inviting. What stands out most, and what we truly appreciate, is the attention to using local products and the original, elaborate, and meticulously prepared recipes. The wine selection is extensive and excellent, and we enjoyed the clear and passionate advice provided by the managers and waiters.
Everything we ate, from appetizer to dessert, was excellent: warm, authentic, and balanced in flavor and texture... cotechino meatballs, liver, a platter of cured meats, palacinke flan with pumpkin cream, fussili with sausage and cave cheese, ossobuco, rabbit, traditional desserts, coffee...
A round of applause and thanks to everyone for this culinary experience in a place I highly recommend.
PS: Also noteworthy is the fact that many Slow Food Presidia are used, and you can purchase their typical products and even the wine bottled especially for the restaurant.

A welcoming and elegant venue.
From the moment we were welcomed, it was clear what we were in for...
We chose two appetizers (a plate of cured meats and a cream of mushroom soup) accompanied by two glasses of white wines (Vitovska and Malvasia).
We moved on to the main courses (beef tripe and sautéed rabbit) accompanied by two glasses of red wines (Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and a Cabernet Franc).
The dinner concluded with dessert: "Kraško pecivo" (a typical Karst cake with raisins and walnuts and cinnamon ice cream).
Everything we tasted was a delight.
The welcome was superb...it was our first time, but we were welcomed as if we were regular customers.
The prices were in line with the EXCELLENT quality offered.
We will return to try other delicacies.
Congratulations to whoever created this wonderful place.
A well-deserved Michelin Green Star!!!
