Thank goodness after several years the son and daughter of Gianni have returned to re open this culinary institution that for many years has served traditional Parmesan cuisine to the public. They have put their own modern twist on the restaurant together with the original recipes of their family on the menu such as fresh fish dishes and exquisite desserts and homemade ice cream. We opted for the traditional menu starting with very good quality mixed salumi, Parma Ham, coppa and Pancetta with torta fritta and pickles. Then Tortelli with ricotta and spinach, Anollini filled with Parmesan cheese In chicken broth and homemade Tagliatelle in a beef ragu all full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Mains we all had a selection of bolito misto from their trolley together with homemade salse which was delicious. Sweet we couldn’t say no to although we were bursting at the seems, homemade gelato with cherries steeped in alcohol. They have a very good selection of wines from all over, we opted for a very good bottle of fizzy Lambrusco and a dry sparkling Malvasia from the region, we finished with espresso and homemade barnolino and aged grappa. Perfect friendly service in a lovely warm restaurant.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend if you are in the area!

Very welcoming family restaurant run by brother and sister, children of the historic innkeeper Gianni. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, the traditional dishes are well prepared and made as they once were. The real workhorse of this place is the boiled meat trolley where there is a vast choice of freshly cut pieces of meat prepared in a truly optimal way, all accompanied by traditional sauces prepared at home. Well done!

Stellar Sunday lunch in this splendid restaurant....tortelli....magnificent dish of boiled meat with sauces...very fast staff...fast service....and finally...the owner who answers me in Piacenza dialect.....too forward....highly recommended....on my next return to Italy I won't fail to return
