A beautiful trattoria serving traditional Mantuan dishes. I went for lunch to try Mantuan cuisine and enjoyed all the dishes. The first courses were delicious, and the meats were excellent, served with appropriate side dishes. The finale was excellent, with a fabulous Elvezia cake. The service was quick despite the restaurant being packed.

A wonderful culinary experience during a very brief two-day visit to Mantua. We shared a charcuterie appetizer. Then came the restaurant's signature entrees: maccheroncini allo stracotto (a type of stew) and pumpkin tortelli. Main courses: stew with roasted polenta and boiled meats, accompanied by salsa verde (green sauce) and Mantuan mostarda (mostarda mantovana), which (unfortunately, I didn't know) is made only with apples: excellent. A mezzanine of Lambrusco and water. Everything perfect.

The food is as authentic local it can get: agnoli in brodo and bollito misto with salsa verde. Richly flavored and home made supreme quality. A constructive detail: please give wine the respect it deserves. Bringing an opened bottle to the table is a no no!

It's a shame to hear a historic establishment where the food is truly delicious say they don't allow dogs...and we're talking about a dachshund, after all. Anyway, okay, I'll never come again, and believe me, it's truly disappointing.

Excellent value and generous portions. We chose the pumpkin tortelli, the mixed boiled meats with mustard, and the donkey stew with polenta (it melted in your mouth). Everything was delicious. We spent a little under €40 each, ordering a first course and a second course each (plus two waters, half a glass of wine, and dessert to share). The staff was friendly, perhaps a little slow, but on a Saturday night, the place was fully booked. I recommend booking and arriving a little early to ensure parking.
The location is on a quiet side street, and the family-run restaurant is reminiscent of a classic trattoria.

One-day visit to beautiful Mantua
After days spent studying menus and reviews, we chose this trattoria not far from the center, considering we were walking, but still outside the tourist area.
A random Friday lunch took us to this typical Mantuan trattoria.
We chose a platter of cold cuts and a cheese platter. They were good, but the cheeses didn't include mustard or honey. We ordered mustard on the side. Then we had pumpkin ravioli and macaroni with pastissada. They were good and the portions were decent. We finished lunch with sbrisolona and cake.
Not the cheapest, but all in all, it's acceptable given what we ate.
Clean place and honest service.

Siamo stati a visitare la splendida città per incontrare amici di Modena, poi pranzo specialità mantovane. Anoli allo stracotto, lingua con il bagnetto verd, stinco di maiale, prosciutto e melone tortelli di zucca e sbrisolona il tutto una favola, il caffè NO!
prezzi troppo alti. La prossima volta trattoria dell'oca.
