This historic restaurant isn't particularly striking for its slightly retro decor, but for its delicious cuisine and meticulously prepared dishes. Excellent service, kudos to you. Fast service. Recommended.

A wonderful trattoria for traditional Mantuan cuisine. Agnolin, macaroni with donkey sauce, well... extraordinary amaretto tortelli, and a very sweet giardiniera. Everything was perfect. Impeccable service. Fast, kind, and precise. I'll definitely be back. Congratulations! 👏🏻

We had lunch last Friday. We had maccheroni al torchio con stracotto which was a huge portion for 13 euros. Basically two portions, then coniglio in umido and lingua salmistrada with salsa verde. For dessert one elvezia and gelato with warm prunes. All tasty 😋

Its historicity is beyond dispute. The macaroni and stew are legendary. The rest of the meal was different: a plate of boiled meat served with mustard and a little salsa verde might not please everyone. It was a bit meager despite the generous portions. Given its proximity to the Verona province, where boiled meat is a staple, we expected a little more care and "richness." The dessert section was impeccable. The Torta delle Rose was worthy of a World Cup. Good, but I expected more.

In this family-run trattoria, all dishes are prepared carefully and with a keen eye on quality and tradition (no wonder it is listed in the Slow Food guide to authentic Italian regional cuisine).
The selection of cured meats is a great way to start - all of them superb and delicious. You can choose from all the Mantua culinary standards and the small wine list offers wines of the region at fair prices.
Since the restaurant is usually booked fully, service can be a bit slow.
