A traditional, historic trattoria near Mantua! Excellent! We had a trio of risottos (frog, catfish, and minnows) and a mixed fried freshwater fish dish. We shared both dishes because the portions were so generous! Excellent quality and very friendly staff! Highly recommended :) Congratulations!

I ate well. The risotto samples were imperial. I'll be back. I returned after a year. The five risotto samples became three full ones, while the fourth and fifth were halved. Still good. But it was a disappointment.

The food is excellent. I was there for the first time 3 years ago, then I also brought friends directly from Trentino. The risottos are delicious, we always order the risotto sample, the fried catfish are super. The desserts are delicious and the staff are friendly. Every time we have had a great time.

I wanted to try several risottos, from the one with catfish to the one with frogs, and finally the one with saltarei. Unfortunately, unlike other times, the risottos weren't top-notch because the rice was a bit overcooked for all three. The appetizer of cured meats and fried gnocco was good, and the desserts were also decent. All in all, the prices quoted this time are those quoted.

08/04/2026: Tonight I had dinner with a friend in a truly beautiful place, with attention to every detail. The platter was simply spectacular, and the kindness of the staff made you feel right at home. A place that pampers and exudes warmth... definitely worth a visit! I'll be back.
06/03/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you come to Mantua, you absolutely must eat at Casa dello Speck! A truly exquisite and cool place: wooden tables, unique and refined furnishings, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to Simone, who managed the reservation for us, we were seated at a "privè" table, a private space on a landing with a window overlooking the street: intimate, romantic, and truly top-notch! Simone was a real plus for the evening: extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Service like that makes all the difference. Excellent menu: we ordered the pork shank and the cutlet, both delicious and perfectly cooked. The pretzel is also highly recommended! I recommend the Engel Bock Dunkel red beer, suggested by Simone to pair with the pork shank: a perfect pairing. To finish, the house amaro is truly excellent, similar to Amaro del Capo but with a twist. A must-see in Mantua, I'll definitely be back!

25/11/2025: The restaurant is located in an unusual setting, with a backdrop of a quarry, making it even more charming... especially in the summer, which makes it even more welcoming. The restaurant features simple and elegant furnishings. The à la carte menu features a specialty featuring the "truffle" that is a hallmark of the area. The menu also includes freshwater fish dishes. The quality and freshness of the ingredients guarantees excellent results that enhance the flavors. Completing the offerings is a noteworthy wine list. Attentive and courteous staff. Ample parking. Price/quality ratio: medium to high.
