I went there yesterday to eat with friends. Excellent food, excellent service, and a beautiful location. I'll definitely be back.

Questa trattoria ristorante che si trova a Brescello lungo l’argine del fiume Po porta il nome da uno dei due celebri personaggi ideati da Guareschi, Don Camillo e Peppone, interpretati nei famosi film rispettivamente da Fernandel e da Gino Cervi.Il locale ha uno stile rustico, con mattoni facciavista con numerose fotografie che immortalano scene tratte dai film ambientati proprio a Brescello.Qui potrete assaggiare i piatti della cucina tradizionale reggiana come ad esempio tortelli verdi o di zucca, gnocco fritto accompagnato da salumi emiliani e diversi secondi.Se invece siete amanti della pizza, vi consiglio di provarla: è veramente buona!

Today I went back to eat there, and I have to change my mind. I think that night it was really due to a lack of staff and the fact that it was packed. 4 well-deserved stars!

We definitely enjoyed this trattoria, which we recently tried for lunch. Arriving there around 1:00 PM 🕐 after visiting the Boretto River Tourist Port ⚓, we parked the car 🚘 and immediately headed up to the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by a manager 👩🏼 who seated us at a free table under the beautiful portico. We then began to browse 👀 the menus 📋, already displayed above the set table 🍽, and noted the remarkable variety of options available. In the end, we chose two first courses (tortelli with Tropea onions 🧅 and those with pecorino 🧀/pancetta 🥓/cream of mushrooms 🍄), a seafood salad 🍤 (served as a second course, however), and chicken skewers with rustic potatoes 🥔 (a valid alternative to dishes like the suckling pig and the Tomahawk, which were sold out); to complete the order, a medium beer 🍺, a liter of sparkling water 💧, and a couple of coffees ☕ to conclude the meal. Everything was certainly good 😋 and served promptly by the aforementioned lady 👩🏼. Excellent value for money 👌 considering that in total we spent 50 euros 💶, which also included a nice discount reserved for us at the checkout. Bathrooms 🚾 clean and tidy 🚽🧻🧴, although a general refresh could be beneficial. The parking area 🅿️ is large and spacious. The furnishings and theming are very pleasant (inside there were even several photographs from the Peppone and Don Camillo films 🎞), thanks to a homey style that fits well with the context of the place. By the way, the location along the embankment road is strategic, which, in fact, allows you to easily cross the territories of the various coastal municipalities of the province of Reggio Emilia. Finally, I would like to point out that, during our stay, the singer J-Ax, former leader of Articolo 31 and well-known television personality, unexpectedly arrived on site; The artist, accompanied by another gentleman and wearing his now-iconic black bowler hat ⚫ (a matching shirt ⚫ and dark blue jeans 👖 completed his outfit), crossed the parking lot 🅿️ and discreetly settled under the pergola next to the entrance. Having passed right in front of it 🚶🏻‍♂️, I immediately had the impression it might be him, a theory later confirmed by the manager 👩🏼: "Yes, yes, my niece is already there singing the songs." Anecdotes aside, we had a great time, ergo I RECOMMEND IT 👍. Nice place, little choice of local dishes

Excellent place, good meals, even if what we had asked for was not on the menu, however, it is very nice and we are in the middle of nature, I recommend it to everyone.

Antipasto di salumi con gnocco fritto ottimo. Guancialini con polenta e arista al latte e venti. Buoni i dolci. Servizio da migliorare. Lo consiglio

Location catteristica, personale cordiale ed attento, menù tipico e piatti veramente ben fatti, dallo gnocco fritto ai tortelli al burro con ripieno verde, alla guancia di maiale ben cotta. Sbrisolona con zabaglione da favola. Conto corretto. Da ritornare
