During our lunch at Trattoria Coronate, every dish was a discovery of flavors and creativity, in an elegant and welcoming setting.
We began with a refined amuse-bouche: a creamy tomato soup served in a miniature version, enriched with grated Parmesan cheese—a simple yet flavorful opening that immediately demonstrated the caliber of the cuisine.
Among the appetizers, the Old-Fashioned Beef Tartare was fantastic: excellent quality meat, with farm egg yolk, grated Parmesan cheese, and an anchovy sauce that gave depth to the dish without overpowering the delicate flavor of the meat. A perfect balance of savory and creamy.
The Eggplant Parmigiana 2.0, served in a crispy sphere atop tomato sauce and basil cream, was a tribute to tradition with a modern and playful twist. An explosion of textures and flavors.
The fusilli, with rabbit ragù and a delicate cream with a lemony aftertaste, were surprising with every bite.
The dandelion-filled ravioli, accompanied by a buffalo ricotta mousse and confit cherry tomatoes, were light and flavorful, with a combination of earthiness and freshness that perfectly rounded out the savory experience.
Wine: Arfena di Picchioni
We chose Arfena di Picchioni, a red from the Oltrepò Pavese that proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the entire meal. Elegant, well-balanced, with enough structure to support the most intense dishes yet subtle enough not to overwhelm the more delicate preparations. A bottle that speaks of the region with pride and class.

I went there with friends for the first time.
Excellent cuisine, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a truly extensive and carefully curated wine list, and above all exceptional prices!
I ordered a tartare that I wasn't particularly thrilled with, a bit too salty.
The cutlet, on the other hand, was delicious, with an exceptional breading!
The veal with tuna sauce was average but still very tasty.
The desserts are among the best I've ever had, as were the cookies served as a complimentary treat.
The initial taste of pappa al pomodoro was appreciated!

L'ultima volta che ho cenato a Coronate sarà stato un 15 anni fa e mi ricordo che mi era piaciuto tanto: ieri sera mi ha veramente entusiasmato ! Location a parte, le vecchie cascine di quando ero bambino, la trattoria dal sapore antico ristrutturata con vera eleganza, sulla cucina proprio niente da eccepire.
Ovviamente non è il ristorante dove puoi andarci tutte le sere, ma sicuramente ci tornerò. L'occasione di ieri sera era scopo piccola festa per Laurea di mia figlia: a quanto pare ho fatto centro !

Ho scoperto per caso questa trattoria, mi sono innamorato a tal punto di aver festeggiato il mio matrimonio, anniversari e feste di compleanno, ormai lo frequentiamo periodicamente, almeno una/due volte all'anno, non soltanto per la qualità eccellente del cibo, ma anche per la cortesia immensa che ci riservano i proprietari, sempre tutto eccellente. L'interno è favoloso, un immenso camino adorna una classica stanza di una cascina ristrutturata, colori caldi e ambiente familiare tutto a pochi km da Milano e a 10 minuti da Vigevano, davvero un bellissimo posto, lo consiglio vivamente.

A great discovery, by chance, on a Saturday where everyone crowded together in Liguria or on the shore of a lake. I went by chance and found a welcome from a true restaurateur: a gentleman sitting at the cash register, probably the owner, who made me feel immediately at home.
Ambience
A place that is elegant in its simplicity, with attention to detail without being pretentious. The atmosphere is authentic, that of a trattoria that knows its stuff.
Service
The owner was very kind, and together with a young collaborator - a great enthusiast and expert - they made me feel so at ease that I decided to trust their advice completely.
Food
I started with the wonderful pike croquettes, then I let myself be guided: excellent tagliatelle with wood pigeon ragù (a real delight!) and a secret of Iberian pork with vegetables as an accompaniment that was truly excellent. To finish, a delicious apple pie that crowned the meal perfectly.
Wines
A very high-level wine list. I tasted a magnificent 2003 Ribolla Gialla di Gravner and an excellent 2017 Oberemmeler Hutte Riesling. Carefully selected and fair prices for the quality offered.
Conclusion
A Saturday that I will remember for a long time. When passion, competence and hospitality meet, experiences like this are born. Highly recommended!
