On a foggy, drizzly day, entering these places gives you a sense of satisfaction that's hard to describe. You're in a trattoria that's been around since 1850, and when you sit at its tables, you breathe in the countryside, family, and great hospitality. Then there's the host. That's how it should be, that's how it is: passion, expertise, and contagious enthusiasm (you'll want to try every dish he describes so perfectly). The ability to choose from so many dishes is a great thing. The kitchen will then adjust the portions according to the number of diners. The menu is extensive, featuring local specialties, with several seasonal off-the-menu options. These are highly recommended because, in addition to describing the region, they transport you back in time. The incredible ingredients always reign supreme: from cured meats to Albenga artichokes to goose with mustard. Finally, the cellar: you can drink Lambrusco or Barbera by the glass, but also a wealth of top labels (from sparkling wines to great reds). And the host will be able to advise and intrigue you. These, from the first time you visit, become places you'll love.

A classic trattoria with a traditional menu without any reinterpretations. A clean and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. We had lunch on a Saturday with a reservation for two. We tried and highly recommend the pumpkin tortelli with tomato soffritto, macaroni with ragù, goose "in terragna," cod with vegetables, and finally, zuppa inglese alla mantovana. The house Lambrusco is also good. Easy parking along the street, conversation is possible without shouting. The prices are moderately high, but in line with the quality.

There were eight of us, ideal conditions to fully explore the cuisine and share many courses, as befits a historic establishment that makes generosity and sociability its hallmarks. The start was dazzling: exceptional cured meats, distinct in flavor and the quality of the raw materials, a statement of intent. The first courses, as is renowned, were sublime: traditional dishes executed with a confident hand, profound and recognizable, expressing the local area without frills. The second courses, very good, confirmed the solidity of the cuisine, while the twelve-cheese clock was a highlight. Omar, the convivial host and the central presence of the place, knew how to handle the situation with ease, combining expertise, charm, and that touch of theatricality that makes every guest feel part of the trattoria's history. The wine list, refined and surprising, offered rare labels with excellent value: a selection that revealed passion and care. The desserts rounded out the meal with the same consistency as the rest: tradition, flavor, and a sense of satisfaction that made it easy to imagine this lunch could be enjoyed... any Sunday!
