Trattoria del Vizio In Nardò

Review made after three visits, two of which were 6 years apart. Excellent trattoria in the historic center of Nardò. I tried many of the dishes offered on the menu and found each one exquisite. I recommend the octopus meatballs and the cavatelli mussels and beans. The atmosphere is rustic but well-kept. If you sit on the terrace there is a high probability that a local kitten will stop by to visit you; there is a colony that seems to particularly love this place. The service is reasonably fast and the staff is extremely welcoming. A ritual stop for every time I am lucky enough to visit Salento.

We were there six years ago and we returned this year for two more times! Always everything delicious, high quality cuisine and ingredients. For those in the Nardò/Porto Cesareo area it is an absolutely recommended stop for a good first course that is meat or fish. We also really appreciated the second courses and appetizers (not to mention the wine!). We will definitely return as soon as we have the chance!

Particular praise goes to the owner and chef Francesca, an extraordinary person who puts love and dedication into every dish, and to Vincenzo, whose advice is always precious for an evening full of flavour. I highly recommend everyone to try Trattoria al Vizio, an experience that will not disappoint you!
