Romolo al Porto offers excellent seafood, enhanced by quality ingredients and consistently fresh fish. The experience was overall positive, although we found some areas for improvement: specifically, the wine serving temperature was unsuitable. After a truly delicious raw fish dish served in multiple dishes, our first course included a maltagliato con coccio (a type of pasta with coccio), well-balanced in flavor but not particularly exciting, and a long pasta dish with bottarga and calamari, which was intensely flavorful, but overly salty and therefore difficult to finish. The restaurant is spacious, but can be noisy at busy times. Despite this, the service is well-organized. Overall, a decent restaurant that offers a satisfying experience, especially for those who appreciate raw fish.

Ferragosto at Romolo al Porto
An experience to be repeated. Everything was top-notch, from the fresh raw fish to the quickly served, beautifully crafted appetizers. The starters were exceptional, and we left it to the chef's imagination to finish the superb dessert mix.

Yet another restaurant in the area that's incapable of offering good, fresh fish cooked properly. I fully understand that comparing seafood dishes cooked and eaten in Sardinia isn't possible because we're in Anzio, but serving a simple mussel soup (let's forget that it would have been better to tell the customer I've run out of mussels today because the quality was truly embarrassing) is greasy and full of spices that muddy the flavor, especially considering the €20 price tag. The quality of the other dishes overall is more than adequate, but they're cooked truly poorly, flavorless, lacking passion and love, with ingredients, even when fresh, thrown together senselessly. I've given this restaurant several chances because anyone can have a bad day, but I've realized that this is their standard, and for my tastes and standards, it's definitely a no-go.
