Absolute recommendation: We were looking for a restaurant with very good Sicilian cuisine and found it here. After a warm welcome, we were given a delicious starter platter and then very good pasta. The cannoli were to die for. We met in Restaurant felt very comfortable and looked after. At the end we were even given oranges and tangerines from our own garden. So much warmth and hospitality, but also the food, deserve more than 5*!

Family run restaurant, very welcoming. Simple but excellent quality food. The owner is very friendly and professional.

What can I say... I can only give 5 on everything... starting from the kindness, humility and hospitality of the hosts, a beautiful rustic environment full of history, perfect for spending those hours of pure relaxation, the food is genuine, homemade and delicious, all made in home ... The cannoli??? Among the best I've ever tasted😋, plus a delicious liqueur offered while we were sitting outside admiring the beautiful nature of the place, what can I say. We will definitely return.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, thanks again for your wonderful welcome as if we were at home.. thank you so much ❤️ 😘

Lovely place with delicious food and a great relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The local meat dishes in particular were special and delicious. A place you must visit!

We were lucky enough to be there when a group of local musicians arrived and took over . Played a set and then continued entertaining whilst they ate dinner . Great restaurant with excellent host and simple high quality country food and wine. What more could you want. Highly recommended and well worth a trip out from Taormina to enjoy.

Reading the reviews I was encouraged to book, also because it can be reached on foot in 3 minutes from the Gole dell'Alcantara geological and botanical park where we had parked the car. But they also don't have a large one. In the booking phone call I asked what desserts they could prepare for me to celebrate my birthday and their answer was a cake, also asking me my taste preferences. Doubtful, I confirmed the preparation of the cake. I told my friends that the final result of the cake was a surprise both in terms of aesthetics and taste. In summary I would say that everything about "The flavors of Alcantara" amazed me, booked in the "dark".. delicious place, typical of a small village, large outdoor space immersed in the countryside, the hard-working owners where he moved like a "cricket " to serve all the tables quickly without missing anything and always with a delicate smile. An oversight, he didn't tell us that there was also a restaurant, only bringing us the pizzeria menu, but by peeking at the other tables we discovered the second option. The crispy pizzas are good, excellent and of good quality, the starters and the mixed grill are also plentiful. The cake amazed us... The right size, very well and tastefully finished and also very good. Complimenting his wife, the creator of the cake, he revealed to us that she is a pastry chef. The only flaw is the clean bathrooms obviously but in an external structure and detached from the cottage built in wood. When you go there, look around because the place hides some gems of history....if you see them, ask questions to the owner who will be happy to tell you a little about their history.

We were looking for authentic and delicious Sicilian cuisine and were lucky enough to find it right away at Carmello's. He proudly mentioned that the food was home made by his wife. Fresh, local ingredients with a great variety of meats, cheeses, veggies, you name it. Also the pizza's are great! I also highly recommend the cannoli. Not to forget the great Etna wine, sitting by a lovely view of the mountain and being served by hard working Carmello (who's most definitely one of the friendliest Sicilians on the island). I loved his red wine so much that we bought a bottle from him, as we talked about it he was so kind to ask us: do you want to see my cave? That was quite surprising and also lovely to hear what kind of future plans this lovely place is awaiting. Piacevole serata trascorsa in questa location. L'atmosfera che si respira è di festa! Il servizio è buono, come la pizza e la cucina (ottimo l'arrosto misto con salsiccia, involtini e polpettine in foglia di limone). Onesto il prezzo praticato. Consigliato.
