Trattoria del Carmine In Noto

Excellent pasta and service, excellent quality, but the chef should take a crash course in math and portion control, they can't make me spend €18 and take 50g of pasta off my plate while my friend next door takes 200g!!!

A delightful discovery just steps from the center of Noto. The restaurant, with outdoor seating right in front of a charming little church, offers an intimate and charming atmosphere, perfect for a quiet dinner in an elegant yet informal setting. Found thanks to TheFork, it proved to be a truly perfect choice. The staff was welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable with thoughtful recommendations and attentive service. We sampled two first courses: paccheri with swordfish and eggplant and spaghetti with sardines. Both were excellent, well-combined, with distinct yet harmonious flavors that showcased the ingredients without overpowering them. Followed by two fish-based second courses: seared tuna with caramelized onion, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a well-balanced sweet note. A cuisine that surprises with its attention to detail and refined flavors, in an architectural setting that alone is worth the visit. Definitely worth considering.

It's more of a restaurant than a trattoria. We ate well. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable; sometimes it seems like they can read your mind. The dishes were very good. We had the mussels with pepper, the octopus with potatoes, the ricotta ravioli, and the meat rolls. For dessert, we had the blancmange. Everything was very good, but I especially recommend the pepper because the mussels were cleaned very well: they were beardless, which is rare in other restaurants. I've actually tried several restaurants in Noto, and this was the only one where I found perfectly bearded mussels. The clams were also very good (and large!). We're satisfied! The interior is lovely. The walls are decorated. Outside, you can admire the baroque church. We got a great discount by booking through The Fork.

Right in the city center, this historic trattoria is recommended by the Le Routard guide. The pasta with sardines and fennel was excellent and plentiful (about 150 grams!), and the paccheri with swordfish was delicious. The sardines a beccafico were perfect, with mint and orange. The staff was kind, young, and helpful, and even gave us a gift. The view from the windows of the Carmine Church was enchanting.

Very good and attentive service and fantastic food. All was good, but the lemon mousse….to die for. Great wine recommandation. A gem!
