Do as the locals do. Delicious home made food. Reasonable prices. And free WiFi in a town with poor reception. Such a gem!

Great food, but the place was not suited for families with kids, even though we have made a reservation and mentioned it. We have waited much longer than expected for the table, we had to ask for it on our own.

The Dardano appetizer was average (the cured meats were a bit bland), and the crostini were good. We ordered the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms (not the best), the pici with Chianina beef ragù (not bad), and the grilled Chianina beef fillet with porcini mushrooms (medium rare, perfect).

Definitely try to get reservations but they were able to accommodate us as walk ins. Staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and lovely atmosphere.

Un tuffo nella cultura del territorio. Tutto ciò che abbiamo assaggiato ci ha deliziato. Vale sicuramente l'attesa. Consiglio i funghi fritti e qualsiasi taglio di carne da loro proposto. 5 stelle complessive (4 per il servizio perché con tante persone si sono dimenticati di noi - avrei dato 2, ma hanno recuperato con simpatia e goliardia)

Ambiente piacevole, di lunedì sera tutti i tavoli occupati. Ottimi i pici all’ aglione, la salsiccia alla griglia e la faraona. Buona la zuppa di verdure. Tiramisù notevole. Possibilità di vino al calice. Consigliato.

29/08/2025: A wonderful location. Fantastic food of the highest quality, decidedly gourmet but plentiful. Excellent wine. The chef coming to say hello is fantastic. The lady in charge of the dining room is truly a lady. The surprise of the divine ambrosia at the end. We were there a few years ago. We'll be back.
08/08/2025: Dining at Ambrosia Restaurant in Cortona was an incredible culinary experience! The location is quaint and welcoming, and the dishes are superb in quality, flavors, presentation, and food pairing. But what made the experience even more special was Chef Matteo, who is not only an impeccable professional but also a warm and passionate person. We had the pleasure of attending one of his cooking classes and were won over by his passion and ability to share knowledge. I highly recommend this restaurant to food lovers, to anyone looking for a high-quality culinary experience and a welcoming atmosphere.
