Trattoria Dal Tenerissimo In Catania

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend from Catania. In fact the place was full of locals, very few tourists. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the generous portions and the very low price. Excellent horse meat. Very spartan service, we cut to the chase. With 20 euros each you can eat too much.

Sicily #6, Catania #6, Italian #2, Horse #1: my friend had read Catania was famous for horse meat and had found a few places to try. After we visited the castle nearby-ish, we decided to take a break here. We ordered: 1L vino €6 x2, horse sausage €2, porchetta €2; (€2 coperto/cover pp). Both the sausage and the porchetta were delicious. Not onyl did they taste great, but the pricing for food here is phenomenal. The vibe/service is also great. This definitely feels much more like a local haunt (there weren't any tourists here--besides us). It was a great place to take a break, have some drinks, and eat some meat. I wanted to come back here, but I couldn't convince the rest of my group to eat horse again 😅 This would be one of the first places I'll return to next time I'm back in Catania.

Excellent grilled meat for quality and price

The food was ordered for takeaway, so it's hard to comment on the service or atmosphere. The taste of the food is 4/5. Spaghetti alla norma 4/5. A portion for €9 and you can eat quite a lot. Polpetta di cavallo con Philadelphia e pistacchio panino 2/5. The cutlet in a bun was completely burnt on one side, which is a pity because it tastes delicious, I managed to save some of this meat,

The meat is of excellent quality. I recommend everyone to try the grilled meat.

Terza volta che andiamo e nel contesto l'esperienza è sempre positiva. le polpette di cavallo superlative: super consigliate. orse i prezzi sono un po più alti di quello che ti aspetteresti (ma solo per alcune cose). Sono veloci, cortesi.

Locale angusto, pieno di tavoli ravvicinati… personale scorbutico ad accezione di una signora con i capelli legati , gentile e rassegnata alla pessima riuscita del servizio. Ha molte varietà di carne e preparato, nulla che mi sia rimasto nella mente. Per il cibo il conto pagato potrei ritenerlo adeguato ma, se considero nel complesso anche il servizio, direi che non posso ritenermi soddisfatto!
