Trattoria da Valentino In Roma

I had fried artichokes, melenzane (a type of Turkish stew), and beef tripe. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious. I was curious about the tripoa alla romana, which is beef tripe. It was a simple dish with tomato sauce. It could have been better with a little more spice and heat. But since this is the traditional preparation, I preferred to eat it as it was served rather than adapting it to my liking. You can try it if you are near Colosseum.

An excellent restaurant for lunch and dinner!!!

Simple yet welcoming atmosphere. The set menu is excellent both in terms of price and the quality and quantity of the dishes. Just steps from the Imperial Forums.

The good: The food was good enough, for the reasonable listed prices on their own. Service was pretty good/friendly. Atmosphere decent/average/not bad. The bad: they brought bread without us asking and then charged us for it. Nothing was brought with it, and it was a bit dry and we only had one piece and were charged 2 euros for it. Not a fan of places that bring you stuff without asking and then charge for it. Then, FIVER EUROS for a small (330 ml) can of coke). Now, our bad for not paying attention and noting the price before we ordered (certainly wouldn't have ordered otherwise), but it is absurd and, frankly, usurious, to charge that much for a small can of soda. So for a meal we expected to pay about 25 euros for, we ended up paying 32. Not cool.

Typical Roman cuisine, excellent service, and a very friendly owner!

The quality/price ratio is one of the best we've tried during a week in Rome, and that's saying something because the food in Rome is fantastic. As a Barcelona native, I was incredibly surprised to find a place like this literally right next to such a touristy area as the Roman Forum 👏🏼

Excellent value for money, everything was delicious! The portion of spaghetti al pomodoro was very generous! Surprisingly, there were only four of us at 7:30 pm on a weekday. The staff were very friendly. As mentioned in another review, the bread is indeed charged at €2 and not included, even though it was given to us without us asking. That said, it was good.
