A typical Bologna trattoria. A must-try for those near the station. The cotoletta alla bolognese is top-notch.

Amazing hidden gem just a few steps far from Bologna’s central station. The food was outstanding thanks to chef Giuseppe for the recommendation (guancia was the best ever had). Stunning service Maria Vittoria helpful and professional 👊🏻. In a few words a place to stop when you’re in Bologna. Highly recommended. Grandi ragazzi 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The tagliatelle with ragù was truly delicious, and the braised cheek was cooked beautifully and balanced with the stock and mashed potatoes. The final touch...a truly delicious homemade tiramisu. The service was attentive and very fast, managed by a very attentive and helpful owner.

A great little restaurant where we had an excellent meal. I grew up in the USA Northeast and it reminded me of the family run Italian restaurants we would go to. The food is very simple in a good way. It was like what you be served if you went to someone’s Nonna’s house.

Trattoria 'Zita'

11/11/2025: Excellent Bolognese trattoria. We stumbled upon it by chance and immediately found the staff very kind and friendly. The food was good: tortellini, probably handmade, with excellent broth and very tasty, delicious, and easily digestible vegetables. A good house wine, bottled, was also available, and the atmosphere was warm, pleasant, and very clean. Congratulations.
11/11/2025: It's true that it's difficult to eat badly in Bologna, but here it's impossible. With just a few dishes on the menu, you're guaranteed seasonal, carefully prepared dishes. The tagliatelle with ragù is a must. And for dessert, if you're lucky and it's the day, a tart with homemade cherries. In the warmer months, they have a small, tastefully furnished courtyard.

05/01/2026: Discovered "by chance" on a very busy Sunday in Bologna, it turned out to be a delicious restaurant that we've been to several times now. Balanzone is top!
