We arrived on a Sunday for lunch without a reservation (a serious mistake), but luckily a table turned up. The menu was simple, super home-style, and reasonably priced for a place right in the city center.
We had a single dish (a generous but manageable portion) with rabbit that exceeded all expectations—superb! A braised beef with polenta (excellent), a portion of casoncelli, and a portion of polenta taragna (delicious).
The staff were like a trattoria, so there was little time for conversation and pleasantries, but they were very kind to my children. If you're looking for a Michelin-starred waiter, go elsewhere.
Recommended, but reservations are required.

Very nice experience. We got beef breast and chicken. Both came with Polenta. They were very tasty and very large portions, that we couldn't eat them all. I saw the same thing and another lady at another table couldn't finish it and they gave her a package to take home.
Nice atmosphere, the lady who owns the shop very kind. The waiter not very kind, but he served us properly.
I was very happy that they had a list of allergens and I was able to easily order what I wanted.
With one dish you will be full, so don't take anything else, because the portions are big.

Immaculate Conception weekend in Bergamo and Upper Bergamo, very beautiful and worth a visit. We booked at this trattoria to savor the typical local products. We obviously ordered casoncelli, braised beef, polenta, etc. The quality of the food is unquestionable; everything was excellent and flavorful. What's missing is the empathy of the staff, who, in my opinion, were cold and distant, with rather amusing jokes, including that if you wanted a different side dish you had to pay (as if we were poor), no offense to those who can't afford a plate of pasta. I give three points only for the unquestionable quality of the dishes, but if I really have to say it, I won't be returning. Prices are average for the season.

A great experience at Ornella's, like going to grandma's house. Hearty, traditional dishes, but above all delicious, house wine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I recommend it.
