What a find in Acquaviva delle Fonti! This is truly a family owned restaurant, with Linda caring for the tables with charming grace and style, and Ismet serving as chef. Don't be fooled by the closed front door: there is a doorbell marked "spingere" (meaning "push.") Linda will come out and greet you as you enter. I counted seven tables in the restaurant, so during busy periods, a reservation might be a wise choice. I had the pulpo (perfectly cooked); others in my group tried a little bit of everything to share, and Linda was very happy to accommodate their approach. The food comes out as Ismet prepares it, so don't expect everything to be served at once if you're in a group. (Again, this is family style.). Ismet has been cooking a long time, and has operated this restaurant for 13 years, so he's got this. Sometimes he will bring the food out himself, and you'll have a wonderful opportunity to see his charm match Linda's. One little caveat: don't ask for hot tea after dinner -- they simply don't have it available. Instead, enjoy an espresso, a macchiato, or better yet: a caffè corretto (with grappa, of course). On my next trip to Acquaviva delle Fonti, I know where I'm going per il mio pranzo!
