Un posto semplice, purtroppo un po’ angusto, ma con cibo saporito della tradizione romana. La carta dei vini è nutrita.

Cenato con amici in questa trattoria che propone la tipica cucina romana (mi raccomando la prenotazione!): ambiente rustico (eravamo nella sala sotto il livello stradale), staff efficientissimo e gentile, cibo di ottima qualità! Ordinato il carciofo alla romana come antipasto: dolcissimo, tenero, squisito! Sublime la carbonara (al dente) gustata quale portata principale così come i tonnarelli cacio e pepe assaggiati da un commensale. Ottimi anche i dolci! Alla fine i 39 euro spesi a testa rispecchiavano appieno il servizio e l’ottima cucina! Bravi!

If you’re looking for the best carbonara in Rome, look no further than Trattoria Da Danilo. Located not far from Roma Termini station, this historic Roman trattoria offers an authentic and delicious dining experience. We enjoyed several traditional dishes, including abbacchio alla romana, sautéed chicory, tiramisù, sour cherry tart (crostata con le visciole), and the daily special: tagliatelle with tomato sauce. But the real star of the night was the carbonara — hands down the best we’ve ever had. We shared it with our Brazilian in-laws visiting Italy for the first time, and they were absolutely amazed by how incredible it tasted. The service was friendly and precise, and the bill was reasonable for the quality and portions we received. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience true Roman cuisine — especially the carbonara!

They refused me twice due to capacity, but the one experience I had there was amazing! Pasta with bacon, cheese and pistachio sauce! One of the best pasta I ever had. It is possible to pay by card, but there are no towels on toilet.

A nice restaurant with upstairs and downstairs table cloth tables that are intimately spaced. The establishment has been visited by several well known celebrities. The owner/manager was not as friendly as the waiting staff. The fried lamb was unusually breaded and not tasty like lamb typically is served. The Carbonara is highly recommended as some of the best you can experience. The Tiramisu is moderately good and too creamy. The atmosphere is decorated with pictures of actors and sport celebrities that have attended in the distant past. Dishes are reasonably priced and valued. If there are 4-6 in your party you will eat upstairs and 3 or less you will likely eat downstairs in the basement with no natural lighting.

Typical Roman trattoria with traditional, plentiful and tasty dishes. Close to Termini station, it is a welcoming place to eat excellent food at fair prices. The amatriciana they make here deserves the slipper and the tiramisu is an addition of happiness!

18/05/2025: I am reviewing this place for the many times we have been there recently, really many especially for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday but also for dinner for the pizza (very good and thin and the fried food super good!). What can I say? Every time we go back (the last one just yesterday on Saturday for lunch, we were 5 adults) all the dishes are always better! Even for me who became vegetarian 3 years ago and more, it is easy to find super food especially among the first courses and side dishes! Everything cooked to perfection, generous portions and the house white wine that is already wonderful, not to mention the "Rosette" typical Roman bread that I adore and with which I always make mega mops! We like the place for its simplicity and its retro vintage taste, also being frequented mainly by adults and families, it is never particularly chaotic but quite quiet and you can exchange pleasant chats. The staff is then made up of various waiters all affable, nice and welcoming and this is a great quality. We will be back again and again!!!
18/05/2025: Recensisco questo locale per le diverse volte in cui vi siamo stati ultimamente, davvero molte soprattutto a pranzo sia di sabato che di domenica ma anche a cena per la pizza (buonissima e sottile ed i fritti super buoni!). Che dire? Ogni volta in cui vi torniamo (l'ultima giusto ieri di sabato a pranzo, eravamo 5 adulti) tutte le pietanze sono sempre più buone! Anche per me che sono diventata vegetariana da 3 anni e più, è facile trovare cibarie super soprattutto fra i primi ed i contorni! Tutto cucinato a dovere, porzioni abbondanti e vinello bianco della casa che va già che è una meraviglia, per non parlare poi delle "Rosette" tipico pane di Roma che io adoro e con cui faccio sempre della mega scarpette! Il locale ci piace nella sua semplicità e con il suo gusto vintage retrò, inoltre essendo frequentato soprattutto da persone adulte e da famiglie, non è mai particolarmente caotico ma abbastanza tranquillo e si possono scambiare piacevoli chiacchiere. Lo staff poi è composto da vari camerieri tutti affabili, simpatici ed accoglienti e questa è una grande qualità. Ci torneremo ancora ed ancora!!!

17/05/2025: What can I say, we arrived on foot and, along the road, you can see some green tents shading the outside courtyard that made me say "let's hope that's the place"... and it was! Do you know those places that make you think "come here and I'll take care of the eating!"? Well, this is one of those. Never been before, but at first sight the feeling was exactly that. I won't go into further detail, we had a divine time. We ate a lot and well and at the right price. The only flaw was the absence of some items on the menu in the kitchen, but in the end I still left "rolling" and fully satisfied. The staff? Friendly and helpful. Must try to enjoy.
