First and foremost, the courtesy and affability of the hosts of the tavern should be noted (we arrived without a reservation although it is written on the door that we ask for it, there were no problems).
Secondly, the innkeeper is fun and approachable, yet courteous.
The environment is rustic, perhaps slightly messy but full of details from portraits to carvings and tinsel depicting the fox (Nomen Omen, I would say).
Let's move on to the dishes: we took the platter of cured meats, cheeses and asparagus in melted cheese (Antipasto della Volpe), little to say. Everything was excellent, especially the selection of cheeses accompanied by orange marmalade.
Excellent porchetta as well as angus roast beef and game cured meats.
Secondly we had two different first courses (the ravioli) and what flavours! A mixture but well blended of flavors between the cheeses and herbs that is difficult to describe except that everything has been brushed away. Clearly homemade, with the necessary cooking times.
In a nutshell, is it worth coming to this tavern? Yes definitely, there is rusticity but also gourmet by the kilo without flaunting it but finding it expressed in the dishes served.

Warm, welcoming environment... it feels like being in the tavern at home. Very kind, prepared and fast staff. Excellent wine. The four stars for the food are only due to a defect found in one of the dishes. While the appetizers and the first course were extremely delicious, the second course of meat (we opted for the deer) did not totally justify the price or even the expectations. We were probably unlucky because in the small slice of meat (no fillet) that we were served there was a lot of waste.
In any case, a really nice find. We'll be back... Maybe trying more "local" courses.

Good, hospitality, competence, imagination, tradition and above all excellent knowledge of the ingredients and their combinations with the result of consuming delicious, appetizing and very tasty dishes. These two ladies are very good and it is not the first time that they have delighted us with their culinary preparations. The quality/price ratio is also good. I attach some photos.

Every time I return to this place I am more and more satisfied... Their platter of mixed cold cuts and refined cheeses is spectacular... not to mention their increasingly good ravioli with particular flavours! I come back often and willingly 💪! I add that after a corporate dinner by reservation I can only re-confirm the goodness of their dishes and the excellent service😁
