There are places you think, "If GPS didn't exist, how would I find it?" Well, this is one of them 😅. It's located in a small village by the river. A large house with two separate, enormous rooms; it looks like an event hall. The tables are beautifully set with decorative touches like the antique cast-iron teapot. The homemade food is delicious: cheesecake, vegetable stew, black rice, and pasta with ragu. If you're traveling to Verona from the French Riviera, it's a great place to stop for lunch.

You have to want to come here, to this splendid place. Something must be there that compels you to come here, off the beaten tourist track, light years away from that present and future idea that "the important thing is that it's close, convenient, and quick."
With this in mind, you go in search, and once you arrive, you enter with ease, immediately discovering the wine bar on the left, as has always been the case in trattorias.
The restaurant may seem a little rustic at first, but it quickly reveals itself to be understated and elegant, quiet and reserved.
And now that you've almost recovered from your amazement, your eye can't help but wander to the enormous kitchen, open to the astonished gaze of the patrons, where in the distance you can watch a sfoglina (a pasta maker) at work (live).
Our hearts are clapping, and we haven't even sat down yet. We recover from this daze of genuine beauty, and here we are at the table assigned to us: large, comfortable, and absolutely not pushed against other tables, especially not those modern 60x60 "bar" tables.
The dining room is bright and filled with real plants, and there's a summer terrace.
The food here at Cattivelli is absolute culture,
respect for tradition and quality products, almost all local.
And finally, the dishes chosen (in my opinion, I would have tried them all).
A charcuterie appetizer with giardiniera, sturgeon steak, fried eel, catfish, and small fish, veal cheek, zuppa inglese, and shortcrust pastry shell.
Excellent wines, precise service, punctual without being a nuisance to the customer. Here, we strive to always be excellent, not for pure interest or profit.

A restaurant serving traditional cuisine with an innovative twist. High-quality ingredients and preparation, attention to detail, and technical perfection, even in challenging dishes like a cheese soufflé. The atmosphere is spacious, bright, and very quiet. The wine list isn't extensive, but it offers high-quality selections and minimal markups. A Slow Food snail, it deserves a Michelin star.

A very welcoming place, impeccable service, and excellent food. The price is reasonable for the quality of the ingredients used. It's obviously not a typical trattoria. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience, definitely recommended. The size of the tables and the space between them were much appreciated, which is not a given. The service was excellent, and the quality ingredients are evident on the plate. Well done, and thank you for making me happy.
