Trattoria Catalogna In Alghero

Best restaurant we've tried during our stay in Alghero. Carbonara and beef cheeks were both out of this world, can't recommend them enough. Waitresses were very kind and attentive, kudos to everyone!

We had dinner at this trattoria and had a positive experience. We ordered three dishes, water, and a half liter of wine: everything was very good, with carefully prepared dishes and flavors reminiscent of traditional cuisine. The staff was also very kind, welcoming, and helpful. The only small complaint is that the bill seemed a bit high. Otherwise, I recommend this place to anyone looking for quality cuisine in Alghero.

The place is simply the best in Alghero. Perfect dishes, simple, not over complicated, but still the best combination of flavors, staff is also very nice…we had 2 dinners here in our 3 days Holiday in Alghero.

Amazing food but most importantly very friendly stuff.

This place is just special. Food was mouth watering and staff were amazing. Each course was better than the previous…. Cannot recommend this place enough …. Please do make a reservation to avoid sadness

Overall nice experience, only the carbonara was too peppery. We shared an eggplant appretizer, which was really yummy, that was outstanding. Then we had one-one carbonara, which both of us found too peppery and a bit small portion for the price. Had two different main dish, the beef cheek was really soft, the steak was also nice. Sometimes a bit felt judged that we only ordered one appetizer to share and only water for drinks.

We went here with reservation and arrived 10-15 mins earlier. The staff was a little bit surprised, but we got seated anyway. We only got served at the time of our reservation. Apologies if we disrespected restaurant culture here. Each of us ordered 1-1 Carbonara and 1-1 secondi piatti and we also shared one Antipasti. Monblanc di polpettine was fantastic. It sounds weird at first with 🍆, but trust me this is the best antipasti here in Alghero! The waitress pointed out, that the portion is for one person, but we planned to try many many dish here so we went with only one. Fine dining quality, don't skip antipasti you need to try this! We both ordered carbonara and we had mixed feelings. The portion size is really small and they use a lot of pepper. I mean... I had cacio e pepe that was less peppery than this carbonara haha! The guanciale on the other hand was the best I had in Italy! Overall it was very delicious, but I'd like to point it out that it costs 20€, which is a little bit overpriced for what you get. If you come here for the carbonara I would recommend their special offer that is on the menu. For 35€ you get Carbonara, a meal and wine too. For secondi piatti we had steak and beef cheek. It was very good quality, I'd like to visit the place again and the try third option too. We also wanted to try the tiramisu here, as we read positive reviews about it, but sadly we were full. Maybe next time. I really enjoyed the vibe of sitting outside. This is a very good restaurant in Alghero.

The staff, and especially the owner, are very friendly and have a great sense of humor. They go to great lengths to make their guests feel comfortable. Unfortunately, things were a bit chaotic on our evening. We had to wait a very long time for our food, the bread for our appetizer was forgotten (€16 for three small meatballs!), and our pasta wasn't salted, so we had to add a lot of salt ourselves. After that, however, the meal was fine. The tiramisu was fantastic. The music in the outdoor area was a bit too loud. For us, the value for money wasn't great that evening, and we wouldn't go back.
