To love the "Basso" you need to have a few strands of graying hair and/or, a beautiful shiny square at the top of the skull, as evidence of having fully savored the uncontaminated Paduan cuisine, in the recent past in which quality was subordinated to authenticity. The rest is business, think of our dear children who we send to gorge themselves on burgers etc., etc., whose origins we don't play around with. Therefore, as far as I'm concerned, great "BASO ISONZO".

Let's say the cost is low. This first. The food, frankly, is so-so: a bit old-fashioned, perhaps for some it's an advantage. Young and friendly service.

I would give a 5 even just out of affection for this historic trattoria which has remained unchanged over time. For those who want to savor typical traditional dishes with the goodness of home cooking, this is the right place. I always come back very willingly. Sunday lunch with pumpkin and sausage pie and an amazing guinea fowl. 😀
