One of my top five restaurants for the quality of the ingredients used and the family atmosphere. I've been going there for over twenty years and have never had a single failure or misstep.

I've been hearing about this restaurant for decades, almost legendary given the impossibility of booking without making it well in advance.
The fact is, one weekday evening in July, we managed to book.
A trattoria on the hills that offers a beautiful and pleasant view from the outdoor veranda. Alternatively, there are two indoor dining rooms.
The location isn't elegant; it's a trattoria with a reputation, in my opinion not entirely deserved.
Traditional dishes of various kinds, from trofie with pesto to raw seafood, from tagliolini with wild boar/hare sauce to various types of tartare. In short, there's plenty to choose from.
But the food isn't convincing. From the speed with which they arrive (appetizers), some items seem pre-plated because they're perhaps among the most requested.
The abundance of seasoning, especially in the sauces, makes them particularly indigestible.
I must have been unlucky, but it didn't convince me.
The food was below my expectations, the service was average, the location was good but it didn't make up for it.

Birthday lunch. After hearing so much about it, we finally managed to book. A perfect choice. Superior food, well-stocked wine list, generous portions. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our requests. We ate outside under the pergola. Parking was also available. Definitely recommended.

We booked, hopefully, at the last minute, to celebrate our anniversary for lunch on Sunday.
The staff were very kind and helpful, both on the phone and upon entering the restaurant, where they even let us choose between two available tables.
The staff is numerous and takes great care of the dining room, even engaging with some customers, evidently regulars.
The menu is varied and includes inviting daily specials.
Although we appreciate the refined and authentic cuisine, the dishes weren't particularly satisfying, but that's just my personal opinion. The generous portions were filling.
For dessert, we both chose the apple pie because it paired with a warm zabaglione, which particularly appealed to us. I don't know if we misinterpreted the commas, but the slice of cake was warmed, with a lovely cinnamon aroma, while the zabaglione was cold—no big deal, but we had chosen it on purpose.
Rereading the menu, it's not at all clear.
The final bill was adequate for the generous meal and the service, perhaps not for the slightly out-of-the-way location, which I remembered as much cheaper. But I hadn't been back in several years.
Overall, good, but not great!

Arvigo a Cremeno sulle alture di Bolzaneto è un baluardo della ristorazione genovese, una elegante trattoria che serve piatti tipici oltre a cacciagione funghi e tartufi in stagione con una scelta di vini e grappe inarrivabile.
Vado spesso con amici, non sto a spendere troppe parole per le lodi, è tutto più che perfetto, l'unico problemino era il parcheggio anche quello risolto con un ampio piazzale dal quale si sale alla Trattoria, con il bel tempo si potrà anche pranzare nella veranda all'aperto.
Una volta si poteva considerare un locale "caro" oggi non più, contrariamente alla maggioranza degli altri locali, che dopo il COVID hanno fatto lievitare notevolmente i prezzi, loro sono anni che non li ritoccano, pur mantenendo sempre l'eccellenza della qualità e della preparazione dei piatti, che li collocano senza dubbio nei pochi locali di eccellenza nel genovesato.
