My wife and I used to come here when we were engaged, and nothing has changed: the same atmosphere, the same (excellent) dishes, the same Labronic character, which has been passed down for generations! Why change?

This is the best place to have seafood in Livorno. Hidden in a small dead-end street one enters a wonderfully oldfashioned guestroom full of memorabilia and authentic maritime-décor.
The menu is specialized on fish and seafood.
The service was also quick and friendly.

What advice would I give to the owners of Antico Moro? Keep it up. They've been offering the freshest, most sublimely cooked fish for many, many years. Last week, there were six of us, and we each ordered something different, and we were thrilled. I personally ordered an exceptional cacciucco. The other fish dishes included mussels, penne with scampi, and mixed fried fish. They were exceptional! Highly recommended.

I returned today to what, in my humble opinion, is one of the most distinctive trattorias in the world. I've been going there since I was born (1974), and my family has been going there since they decided to make Rosignano Solvay (a few kilometers from Livorno) their summer residence. In my grandparents' time, the Mercatino Americano + Antico Moro, along with the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Montenero, were two summer staples. And the great thing is that everything has remained the same, especially the freshness and deliciousness of the fish and the love and passion of those who cook it and bring it to the table. The menu? It's there, but you don't have time to read it because the owners explain it to you in person in great detail. The raw ham? I steal a description from a customer sitting next to me: "These scampi are a seafood jam"...as if all the aromas and flavors of the sea are captured here. I couldn't have described them better. The Cacciucco? The best in Livorno (which means the best in the world!) The hot seafood appetizer? Incredible variety, flavor, and aroma. The Grigliata? Cooked to perfection, and the quality of the fish was the icing on the cake. Being on a ketogenic diet, this time, alas, I couldn't dive into the wonderful tagliolini with lobster that I saw passing by...a challenge to consistency.
The added value of this place is Federico, the young scion, and his mother, who welcome you as their grandparents did over 50 years ago, with a smile, dedication, and love for what they do, but without flattery: genuine, genuine, and sincere like any self-respecting Livornese. Don't miss it, and call to book, otherwise you risk being left out and missing out on a great experience
