Trattoria Antico Forno In Bagno a ripoli

I visited this restaurant with my husband and found the atmosphere very homey, simple yet welcoming. The appetizer of pappa al pomodoro fritters was truly delicious, a true delight. The main course, a fillet of beef served with potatoes, was very good: the meat was tender and well-cooked. We enjoyed the pici, although we would have preferred them with less pepper, as the flavor was a bit too intense. As for the desserts, however, our experience was less satisfying: they were a bit heavy, and we weren't convinced by the choice of serving them in a cup, which was awkward both for eating and for the waiter to carry. The service was courteous, with a friendly waiter, and the wait times were reasonable, neither too long nor too fast. Overall, it was a good experience, especially for those who appreciate authentic flavors in a rustic atmosphere. The desserts could be improved, but we'll definitely be back!

I had lunch here on June 6th. I'll start by saying it was a day that clearly threatened rain with thunder and a black sky. We arrived at 12:28 and the person welcoming us told us we were a little early because they open at 12:30 🤔. Ok, they let us sit on the covered but uncovered terrace on the side, and it was already starting to thunder. 5 minutes later and I got up because I was taking a shower. I asked to move and they put us in the more closed porch. The waitress wasn't at all on the ball, in fact it almost seemed like it was her first time setting the table. I'll start by saying there were 2 tables. She sets the table in sections, going around a thousand times. We order good dishes and large portions. I order the fried meat (I don't know the name) but I take it home because I had no more room. I eat the chicken for lunch the next day and... it's raw 😱. I thought of Bastianich: "Do you want me to die?" Very dangerous mistake. I don't think I'll return. I was disappointed by the slip-up on the raw meat. It's a bit pricey, and I'd reconsider the service.

To escape the heat of Florence, we chose to go to Trattoria Antico Forno for dinner on the hills of Bagno a Ripoli and precisely in Villamagna. We discovered a little gem. The dishes follow tradition but with a wise touch of innovation. The crostini with livers are garnished with caramelized onion and hazelnuts. The egg in two consistencies with abundant and tasty black truffle demonstrates the chef's technique. Then, for two, we had the ravioli filled with ricotta and orange zest seasoned with duck ragù and pici all'aglione. Excellent bread and good bulk Sangiovese. The terrace is pleasant and well-kept. The service is attentive and informal. We will return as soon as possible. Giant portions. Bill 64 euros

Per scappare dalla calura di Firenze, abbiamo scelto di raggiungere per cena la Trattoria Antico Forno sulle colline di Bagno a Ripoli ed esattamente a Villamagna. Abbiamo scoperto un piccolo gioiello. Le pietanze seguono la tradizione ma con tocco sapiente di innovazione. I crostini con fegatini sono guarniti con cipolla caramellata e nocciole. L'uovo in due consistenze con abbondante e saporito tartufo nero dimostra la tecnica dello chef. Poi, in due, abbiamo preso i ravioli ripieni di ricotta e scorza di arancia conditi con ragù d'anatra e pici all'aglione. Ottimo pane e buon sangiovese sfuso. La terrazza è gradevole e ben tenuta. Il servizio è attento e informale. Ci torneremo appena possibile. Porzioni giganti. Patron simpatico. Conto 64 euro
