A local gem, delicious Abruzzo traditional food, and the house red wine is a smooth Montepulciano d'Abruzzo -of course! Highly recommend the pasta Chitarra with truffle (crema di tartufo) and let Nando's suggestions guide you for the starters.

We ate at Nando's during a visit to Lanciano: a very small but elegant place, the owner and his wife are friendly and welcoming. As soon as we sat down, a platter of mixed bruschetta (with cheese and tomato) was brought to the table, even though we hadn't requested it. We ate it while waiting to order a first course and to try the host's olive oil...it was delicious and appreciated. Then Nando arrived, without a menu, and offered us a first course (paccheri) Genovese-style, which we ate while another guest chose the spiced chicken casserole. Four of us drank a liter of wine and four coffees. We paid €25 each; a price, in my opinion, high considering what we ate and that we were at a trattoria.

We went for lunch, we were touring the villages and wanted something homemade. A perfect choice, a small but welcoming, family-run restaurant. The owner and chef is someone who enjoys what he does, and therefore does it well! You sit down and trust him, like a family friend. The price is as honest as few others these days. Highly recommended!

We stumbled upon this trattoria almost by accident, having found it on Google during a trip to Lanciano, but it was one of the happiest discoveries of recent times. The atmosphere was authentic, welcoming, and unfussy, just as a real trattoria should be. Nando is a special person; he was kind and smiling from the first moment, making us feel at home. A true host!!! The cuisine was a real surprise: simple yet carefully prepared dishes, prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. Each course had the authentic flavor of tradition, cooked with passion. Generous portions and absolutely fair prices complete an experience I would like to repeat as soon as possible. Nando, you made a killer Genovese, not to mention the ribs, the beans... In short, you were the best. Thank you. Next time we come to Lanciano, we'll come visit you. The 2pm guys 🤣🤣🤣
