Trattoria Al Casareccio In Ragusa

What a wonderful experience in this hidden neighborhood gem mostly frequented by locals. The octopus special was amazing, and the ricotta pasta with pork sauce hot the spot.

Este es un restaurante fantástico en todos los aspectos. Excelente cocina tradicional italiana combinada con excelentes vinos sicilianos. El personal es muy amable y atento de la manera más genuina y crear un ambiente maravilloso junto con todos los lugareños habituales que llenan el restaurante cada noche. Disfrutamos tanto de Al Casareccio que fuimos allí para dos cenas y un almuerzo durante nuestra estancia en Ragusa.

I have been to this place several times but today I want to express a thought, the food is very tasty and cared for, they tend to respect some ancient Iblean recipes, they also offer cacio e pepe and carbonara which although not Sicilian dishes I think it is right to honor 2 of the oldest national pasta dishes (we didn't take them, but the ones at the next table gave a good aesthetic impression, I'm sure also the taste, otherwise there would be no point in cooking them). The "Lolli with lentils" reminded me of my grandmother (who was from Ragusana), the pasta in meat broth was very good, the stew and pork sausage we know we are in the right province, the warm heart (or chocolate soufflé) is of their production, but what pushed me to write these 2 lines is the attention paid by Giorgio (chef) in the final phase when he came to sip a coffee with us, I consider this last gesture a great elegance in a moment where I believe that tiredness reigns supreme. Thanks to the guys in the room and thanks to Giorgio, we'll see you again on our next visit to Ragusa. Oh the bill?? I almost forgot, in fact... I almost forgot... as often happens when you leave happy, you forget it!

Typical sicilian cousine, polite staff and comfortable tables. Great value.

The food is really good, the tagliatelle with prawns and pistachios are excellent and plentiful, as is the spaghetti with anchovies, and the grilled chicken served in generous portions was also much appreciated; The desserts are also good (chocolate soufflé and babà with ricotta). In my opinion, however, the prices are not "trattoria" but restaurant prices... the first 12 euros, the chicken 10 but above all the soufflé (very small to be honest...) 5 euros!! The babà 4 euros...The staff however is really very kind and helpful. In conclusion therefore: excellent food but prices a little high... In my opinion it would be enough to lower the prices by one or two euros per dish to certainly get top marks.
