Our first culinary pit stop was right here at Trattoria Ai Villini where we were able to eat many typical Roman dishes... all extraordinary in the simplicity of a homemade and delicious cuisine!! We went there this morning while on vacation in Rome...what can I say? The atmosphere was beautiful, welcoming, and the staff were incredibly kind and the dishes were excellent. We had three excellent first courses (amatriciana, cacio e pepe, and carbonara) and three equally delicious second courses. The owner will remember my son saying the meatballs melted in your mouth. 🤣🤣 Greetings from Sardinia. We'll definitely be back.

A genuine trattoria frequented by locals; I had exceptional tonnarelli alla Gricia and oxtail stew with potatoes. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic and tasty food.

The best carbonara in Rome. (And I've tried a lot.) The tiramisu is also delicious! If I return to Rome, I would definitely come back here.
The restaurant is old-fashioned and reminds me of my childhood ❤️

Overall, it is a lovely restaurant, with true home cooked food that reminds me of how the Italian immigrants of the 1950’s would cook.
The reason I have given four stars, not five as I usually do, is because of the portion sizes versus the price you pay, but also the owner/manager. He did not do anything wrong, but his demeanor was pretty low and borderline off putting.
His wife/partner and the young waitress were lovely, and the food itself was delicious which is why I didn’t give this review three stars.
There is also the convenience of being able to book as opposed to most places.
Definitely not a tourist trap with locals coming, but just note the prices/portion sizes.

A hidden gem! Trattoria Ai Villini is everything you want in an authentic Italian restaurant — warm, welcoming, and delicious. The service was fantastic, and you could really feel the family-run charm throughout. Portions were generous, and every dish was full of flavor. The ricotta cake for dessert was especially incredible — one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a true local experience!

Onestamente fatta così sono capace anche io....
Per il resto servizio cordiale e prezzi onesti.
