If you pass through Brescia center, stop for breakfast or brunch. It is a place that stands out for the international air it breathes and for the variety of coffees and products on the menu. There are times with crowds and longer waiting times and more relaxing moments. I like to think of the places in the great European capitals where you order take-away and where you have time to stop for an excellent breakfast. Place of a dear old friend who (one can say) has coffee in his DNA, but jokes aside, here I drank a Nicaraguan coffee which left me amazed and not only because of the excellent flavour, but above all because I drank 3 in an hour and I was very calm, due to the excellent quality of the saying! Accessibility and Environment It is easily accessible via Metro/Bus, and as it does not directly overlook the square, it enjoys a more relaxing neighborhood which contributes to the homely atmosphere where elements of dark wood and rectangular geometry prevail. The roastery is furnished with taste and attention, with the idea of ​​making customers feel comfortable and welcome. I find interesting the display of the cafeteria menu in clearly visible characters and prices clearly displayed on the wall of the main room (on the left as soon as you enter the room). The bathroom is kept tidy and clean, which is no small feat. In the main room there is a high step, and I advise you to pay attention to it. Menu and Quality of Food The complete menu can be consulted by scanning a QR Code. The ingredients and prices are explicit, and the staff remains available for further clarification. In terms of food, I'll just talk about the croissants and avocado toast, as that's what I consumed multiple times. Croissants available both "classic" and vegan (the ones actually consumed by me, as I follow a vegan diet), generously filled at the moment: I find that they are of quality and an excellent accompaniment to their delicious coffee. For the avocado toast, fresh wholemeal bread (also available non-wholemeal) is used: splendid presentation of the dish and sublime taste. I find that the price is well proportioned to the portion. Tostato is a Specialty coffee shop, and as such is specialized in serving Specialty grade Arabica coffee: an important clarification is that, for those looking for them, neither the barley-flavoured hot drink nor the ginseng-flavoured one (commonly called "barley coffee" and "ginseng coffee", respectively) are served, as they do not comply with the main mission of this commercial reality: a high-level coffee service. The coffee is roasted on site, and is available in both blends and a choice of single-origin varieties subject to seasonal changes, with explanations of the notes you can expect. It is possible to select preparation alternatives, as in V60, French Press, and other methods however explained in the menu. Furthermore, it is possible to purchase packs of whole beans in 250g format of the varieties currently available, with the possibility of grinding them on the spot depending on your needs (espresso, mocha, ...). The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, willing to provide detailed clarifications ranging from the characteristics of the coffee plant to the various preparation methods. The speed of the service is well proportioned to the requests. It should be noted that the place tends to be crowded on weekends, and at these times it may be necessary to wait up to 30/40m for your order to be delivered. Personal considerations Tostato offered me an opening towards a new world: now it is difficult for me to consume coffee in places other than specialty coffee shops, precisely due to the vast difference in both the quality of the coffee and the preparation of the staff on the subject. As much as I appreciate the food and hospitality, it is precisely the reasons listed above that make me return.
