Tierra Nuestra In Genova

Due to a three-hour layover in Genoa, we had some time to spare, so we used Google Maps to find a restaurant near the bus station. We decided on the neighboring "Trattoria da Mario," which was closed for vacation—which turned out to be a stroke of luck. The "Tierra Nuestra," just a few steps away, didn't seem inviting at first glance, with its large-format food photos in the entrance area and its somewhat small and cramped outdoor terrace. This impression quickly faded, however. We had a few questions about the dishes on the menu, which the waitress couldn't answer due to language barriers. The restaurant manager noticed this and stepped in to help, calling the chef from the kitchen to our table, who answered our question. We found this very friendly and helpful. My companion then ordered fish with rice, and I ordered seafood with rice. We received two generous portions, which were visually appealing and both of us thoroughly enjoyed them. At the end of our visit, we were glad that the "Trattoria da Mario" was closed, as otherwise we wouldn't have experienced this extraordinary culinary experience.

It might not be the most picturesque looking spot but this gem of an Ecuadorian restaurant in Genova is exceptional - service is amazing, waiters are warm and friendly. If you like substance over flash, find your way here…I highly recommend their Arroz Marinero (seafood rice), a delicious yellow rice with calamari, shrimp, octopus, mussels and clams topped with sweet plantain.

We were in Genoa for a weekend and discovered La Tierra Nuestra almost by chance… well, we ended up going back three times in two days! That should say it all. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, just like the staff: all very kind, helpful and with a sincere smile. They make you feel at home from the first moment. The food is truly spectacular: every dish we tried was full of flavor, authentic and prepared with care. You can taste that the ingredients are quality and the portions are generous. Plus, the quality-price ratio is excellent, especially considering the goodness of what you eat and the welcome you receive. A place we absolutely recommend and where we will definitely return on our next visit to Genoa!

Tropezó con este bistró ecuatoriano mientras estaba fuera y alrededor. Sabía que iba a ser especial tan pronto como entramos y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. La cerveza es barata, la comida es deliciosa. Lamentablemente, nunca volví a tomar la sopa de mariscos. Gente agradable, especialmente el viejo marinero ecuatoriano de unos 80 años. .
