Fantastic spaghetti with sea urchins. I'd recommend a wider selection of wines with an open glass. Excellent value for money.

Strategically located in the city center, 300 meters from Piazza Maggiore, directly on the Via Indipendenza promenade, and 50 meters from the small window on Via Piella, one of Bologna's most photographed attractions. This seafood restaurant in the city offers excellent quality. Prices are naturally above average, but understandable given the quality of the ingredients and the meticulous preparation. The owner is always attentive to his staff. The staff is helpful and ready to meet guests' needs. The dining room is meticulously maintained, making it ideal for anniversaries and special occasions. We'll definitely return to try other dishes.

I dined at this restaurant, which, located in an area full of trattorias, didn't look impressive from the outside, but once inside, it was a whole other world. The furnishings are elegant, a bit like a "4-star hotel," but tasteful. The place is clean and tidy. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and very courteous. The owner is truly in command of his ship, very kind and professional. He manages to coordinate the staff with a glance and takes personal care of his customers. The quality of the food is high and the flavor is exceptional. I started with a tableside aperitif, which I would describe as standard (it is a restaurant, after all, not a cocktail bar), but dinner was fantastic. The appetizers, first courses, and second courses are all delicious and with a unique touch. I also appreciated the plating. The wine cellar is well-stocked and selects bottles for all tastes. The recommendations and pairings are expert and not commercial. The only drawback is that parking is difficult to find in the evening unless you pay, but obviously it doesn't apply to the restaurant. And since you can have an aperitif at the entrance, if it's a busy evening, privacy and discretion aren't ideal. Perhaps they should set aside another space for aperitifs or organize them on specific days. I'll be back more often. Thanks everyone, keep up the good work!

We had a very enjoyable lunch yesterday at Man and the Sea in Bologna. The setting was lovely, the restaurant itself beautifully done, even down to the toilets, and the menu felt genuinely local rather than tourist-driven, which we really appreciated.
The seafood was excellent, the wine list well chosen, and overall it was a very pleasant experience sitting outside enjoying a long lunch with family. We spent around €425 and, for the most part, felt very well looked after.
The only slight disappointment came right at the end. Although the restaurant states it is open until 4pm, at around 3:45pm we were rather pointedly reminded more than once that they were closing at 4 and needed us to prepare to leave and settle the bill. Sitting outside, it did feel a little unnecessary to be rushed quite so firmly after what had otherwise been such a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
That said, we would still happily recommend it for the quality of the food, local character and atmosphere.

I was there on Saturday, May 17-26. I have to strongly disagree with the positive, overrated reviews. I have good experience with restaurants and trattorias, we must have had bad luck that evening. The decor was a bit dated, like a large hotel. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was clean. There were 2 of us and we ate: 1 portion of Ascona olives, fish, nothing to complain about, simple. 1 portion of paccheri with seafood sauce: the paccheri were very, very al dente, while the sauce was average. 1 portion of linguine with sea urchin sauce: the linguine were overcooked and the sauce was good, for those who love sea urchins. 1 portion of 4 skewers of monkfish and calamari, mediocre...like Marr from Rimini. 1 glass of white wine and 1 liter of water: €98. The table next to mine, all French, enjoyed the raw fish. It was packed with people inside and a few outside. Overrated and trendy.
The food was very good, but the portions were small and expensive. The service was slow and inattentive. The atmosphere was pleasant.

Eleonora's courtesy and kindness leave a lasting impression on this experience. The menu is captivating and carefully curated, the dishes are elegantly presented, and the freshness of the flavors is captivating. A well-deserved 5 stars. An excellent experience, one we'll return to try other dishes.
