I struggled on how to rate The Cook…its setting, service, and wine pairing were superb. However it’s the food I came for. I had the fish tasting menu given the Ligurian coastal setting of Genova. But there was only one exceptional dish, the risotto. Frankly the wow factor was the bread service with the pesto spread. And while the petit four was interestingly presented there was way too much, as if making up for other courses. The price point for the meal and pairing was good. I also found it odd that while there were only 3 tables with patrons and the chef walked through the dining room at least a dozen times, he made no effort to engage with the diners.

Da Cook si va per trascorrere una serata in intimita' tra coccole culinarie e location suggestiva. Una sala, pochi tavoli e si va nel mondo creato dallo chef che gira tra cucina e clienti. Io ho avuto modo di essere "curato" in sala da una persona speciale. Ricordo bene il suo accento calabrese. Come ha ben detto una cliente, qui si va a esperire le alchimie dello chef. Porzioni e prezzi da stellato. Ma cosi' e'. Bella serata.
