I struggled on how to rate The Cook…its setting, service, and wine pairing were superb. However it’s the food I came for. I had the fish tasting menu given the Ligurian coastal setting of Genova. But there was only one exceptional dish, the risotto. Frankly the wow factor was the bread service with the pesto spread. And while the petit four was interestingly presented there was way too much, as if making up for other courses. The price point for the meal and pairing was good. I also found it odd that while there were only 3 tables with patrons and the chef walked through the dining room at least a dozen times, he made no effort to engage with the diners.

Da Cook si va per trascorrere una serata in intimita' tra coccole culinarie e location suggestiva. Una sala, pochi tavoli e si va nel mondo creato dallo chef che gira tra cucina e clienti. Io ho avuto modo di essere "curato" in sala da una persona speciale. Ricordo bene il suo accento calabrese. Come ha ben detto una cliente, qui si va a esperire le alchimie dello chef. Porzioni e prezzi da stellato. Ma cosi' e'. Bella serata.

24/09/2024: The strong point of this place is certainly the wine list: there are numerous labels that are not easy to find and also great classics from historical vintages. The menu is a little small but well cooked.
22/09/2024: A colleague booked for the Nautical show, the food was good, the wine recommended to us was very good, the service was excellent, the girl who served us was nice and polite.

14/12/2024: Caffè degli Specchi is the ideal place for those looking for cuisine that combines tradition and innovation. The menu celebrates the flavors of the territory with dishes such as Lasagne au "Tuccu", Gnocchi with Pesto and the surprising Fish Carbonara. Among the second courses, the Roasted Cuttlefish with Judean Artichokes and the Stuffed Burgundy Free-Range Chicken stand out. To conclude, signature desserts such as the Tarte Tatin with Cream Ice Cream and the classic Panettone with Zabaione. 14/12/2024: Guys, the restaurant at the Caffè degli Specchi has reopened. Today I had lunch with friends and I was extremely satisfied. New management, new Chef, new excellent dishes!!!!! I ate the delicious focaccia with sardenaira, tasty, then an excellent pasta with fish carbonara, mouth-watering!!!! Then I tasted the stuffed anchovies.... Amazing!!!! with prescinsea and prebuggiun, never eaten like this. All washed down with an excellent red wine, I concluded with a mouth-watering panna cotta with medlar compote. Well done young and well-prepared guys, a breath of innovation in a historic venue. I'll be back soon.
