25/07/2025: Beautiful rooms, amazing service and staff. 10 min from Vatican City. 15-20 min from most of the attractions.
11/07/2025: This could have been the best hotel in Rome: a great location, a beautiful pool, an anniversary gift in the room, Italian cuisine… but!
We were greeted at the entrance by a porter who was vaping. One of the restaurants was closed for a private event, and the one where we had lunch felt somewhat neglected. The room was very dark, and at night we had to call reception because the air conditioner couldn’t be turned off—it was blowing so hard that my nose froze.
Breakfast was very average, and interestingly, any egg dishes (other than the scrambled eggs on the buffet, which I couldn’t eat) as well as porridge were available only for an extra charge. The buffet itself was quite basic. Yogurt was only cow’s milk-based, and the desserts weren’t great. I haven’t been this disappointed in a long time.
On the positive side, I want to highlight the breakfast service staff, the spa team, and the excellent coffee.
But the most unpleasant surprise came at checkout: a 5% tip was added to the total bill without any prior notice. At first glance, you wouldn’t even realize it was there. We always ask for a breakdown, and these 5% really surprised us. They were, of course, removed immediately, but the bad taste remained.
I think that with the prices charged for food in the hotel—food that, frankly, doesn’t meet 5-star standards—it’s inappropriate to add an extra percentage without informing guests.
In the end, you’re left with a strange impression: a stunning place with all the potential to be a top-tier experience, but due to staff errors or hotel policies, it fails to truly delight.
