Since November I have to go to Genoa every week for work. For now I have mainly seen the rain and traffic in this seaside city. I must admit that it is a city that I struggle to understand, it doesn't belong to me and it is so geographically and logistically distant that I don't think it will remain much in my daily life. But every visit begins here, in this pastry shop which is an oasis for me. Last Thursday I also had a brioche with eggnog, few people make them and they are delicious. Excellent coffee, a lady at the counter is always kind and smiling, and they provide table service with great professionalism. I like to sit down for a few minutes before going to work and listen to the conversations of those in company, while I enjoy these sweet treats.
For me, Genoa will always have the flavor of these desserts.

Now a Poldo pastry shop, we had breakfast here with a friend last Sunday: pistachio brioches and coffee for me, brioches with ricotta and cappuccino, all for €6.40. Friendly staff and warm decor, I recommend it to Albaro.

Of course the place is historic and the environment is rather elegant, in pastel tones, but... the pastry shop is not what it used to be, when the cake with wild strawberries was an icon of bon ton and gluttony. Currently everything I saw and tasted on two occasions was good but banal. It's equivalent to other pastry shops in the area. Sin.
