An unforgettable culinary experience Last night I had the pleasure of dining in a truly unique restaurant, characterized by a splendid atmosphere. The location, with brick walls and soft lights, creates an intimate and relaxing environment, perfect for a special evening. The tables, well spaced from each other, guarantee the right amount of privacy. We opted for a really interesting menu and were welcomed with a delicious entrée: a shot of orange and ginger accompanied by a very crunchy roll and some homemade butter. A small attention that immediately highlighted the care and quality of the restaurant. As an appetizer, we chose a tasting of meat tartare accompanied by Ascoli olives: it was my first time tasting olives in the Marche, and I must say that they were excellent! First I chose the paccheri with orange, cheese and pistachios: an explosive dish! The contrast between the orange and the cheese (I think it was gorgonzola) was a real feast for the palate. My friend, however, ordered the polenta gnocchi with beef ragout, which turned out to be exceptional. The restaurant also boasts a wide selection of wines, perfect to accompany each dish. Even though I didn't have room for dessert, the owner and chef - very nice and helpful - let me taste some of the liqueurs he produced. The rosemary one was a true masterpiece. The staff is another strong point of the place: always kind, prepared and with a smile, making the experience even more pleasant. I will definitely come back, also because I promised the owner a bottle of homemade gentian. Overall, the quality-price ratio is excellent: I didn't pay personally, but from the prices on the menu everything seemed average to me. A perfect evening that I recommend to anyone looking for fine cuisine in a welcoming and original environment!

Excellent food, scrupulous service, familiar and refined environment…. What more do you need? The starters are highly recommended, especially tartare and carpaccio. Also perfect restaurant for group dinners as it offers numerous menus with excellent quality/quantity/price ratio! (Also gluten-free options on request)

Excellent dishes, wine far from exceptional, punctual service, acceptable quality/price ratio. A claustrophobic and even sad location.

Very good quality and attractive

From our tour in September among the villages and cities of the Marche, we will take with us the image of the hills, the colors of the houses but also the flavors of that region. A special memory is also for this restaurant. If you are in Montecassiano, perhaps in a not so hot period as happened to us, walking through the center go to the small square in via del Vicolo del Comune. Under the building, seat of the municipality, you will find a small door. If you open it you will be catapulted into another dimension. Go down the stairs and you will find yourself in a characteristic environment all finished with exposed bricks and furnished just like a tavern from many years ago. The kindness of the staff who welcomes you, the soft background music, the warm atmosphere created by the colors that surround you make the meeting already exciting. Furthermore, everything we ate was prepared with excellent technique using excellent quality raw materials and always presented impeccably. Traditional cuisine revisited with measure and wisdom but always with real flavours Thanks to all the staff at Taverna San Nicolò for the unforgettable experience.

Dal nostro giro in settembre tra i borghi e le città delle Marche, porteremo con noi l’immagine delle colline, i colori delle case ma anche i sapori di quella regione. Un ricordo particolare è anche per questo ristorante. Se siete a Montecassiano, magari in un periodo non caldo come è accaduto a noi, passeggiando per il centro andate nella piazzetta di via del Vicolo del Comune. Sotto al palazzo, sede del comune, troverete una porticina. Se l’aprite sarete catapultati in un’altra dimensione. Scendete le scale e vi troverete in un ambiente caratteristico tutto finito con mattoni a vista ed arredato proprio come una taverna di molti anni fa. La gentilezza del personale che vi accoglie, la musica soft di sottofondo, l’atmosfera calda creata dai colori che vi circondano rendono l’incontro già emozionante di suo. Inoltre tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato era preparato con ottima tecnica utilizzando materie prime di ottima qualità e sempre presentati sempre in modo impeccabile. Cucina tradizionale rivisitata con misura e sapienza ma sempre con sapori reali Grazie a tutto lo staff della Taverna San Nicolò per l’indimenticabile esperienza.

Ci sono stato per lavoro con colleghi diverse volte. Locale molto bello e suggestivo, in un paesino molto bello delle Marche, Montecassiano. Ho avuto modo di gustare la loro tagliata, la tartare battuta a coltello, le polpettine gustosissime, i tagliolini al tartufo tutto ottimo veramente bravi. Abbiamo bevuto del vino in bottiglia della zona veramente delizioso! I prezzi sono oltre la media, anche per la qualità è molto oltre la media 40/45 euro a testa. Complimenti consigliatissimo!!!

Excellent restaurant - the dishes are traditional on the one hand, but are reinterpreted and taste fantastic! We were absolutely thrilled, both by the cuisine, the service and the ambience. As a greeting from the kitchen you get a fabulous freshly baked bread with salted butter - Italian bread usually takes some getting used to for us Germans, as we are spoiled by the variety and specialties in our bakeries. But I have never eaten bread as delicious as in the Taverna San Nicolo in Germany. Big compliment. And first the pizza, which was more of a pinsa - here too our expectations were exceeded. We ate here twice during our vacation and were extremely satisfied both times!
