Siamo stati in questa taverna per caso a pranzo e ci siamo trovati benissimo, tanto che siamo tornati anche per cena.

We went to this tavern by chance for lunch and we had a great time, so much so that we returned for dinner.
Courteous and attentive service.
Excellent traditional dishes with a wide choice for each course.
We tried appetizers, first and second courses and also desserts and everything was delicious. Excellent wines too.
Prices in line with other places.
Nice place and not too big, also great for talking about work with colleagues.
Highly recommended for both lunch and dinner.

A place that literally bewitched us, so much so that we returned again the next day. A place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the staff are kind and attentive to the smallest details and the delightful owners and spouses who pamper their guests by telling them about their local products. The menu has various proposals all made with care and skill, all ending with an excellent quality-price ratio. Well done, well done, well done

Happy day and lunch on Easter Monday 2025 in a restaurant found almost by chance while wandering up and down the web. The choice fell on the San Martino tavern in Saluzzo, which presents itself with a note of clean, simple elegance, without excessive pretensions and for this very reason effective. Welcomed with kindness, you are introduced into the large room with well-spaced tables, characterized by a pleasant minimalist mise en place - American-style placemats, but made of fabric; a few cutlery changed for each course – and lunch can begin.
After choosing and serving the wine (which, however, should always be served to the right of the diner, except in cases of force majeure...), the chef offers an excellent welcome entrée - focaccia with anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea and parsley sauce with dried butter -, and then moves on to the delicious appetizers that touch on tradition to open up to new perspectives: this is especially the case with the lamb speck with sheets of cheese Tête de coaxing, pear gel and lemon zest; but the other appetizer we tried is also on the line, namely the trout marinated in Moscato with purple cabbage and mustard mayonnaise.
After a wait, perhaps a little too long even considering the public holiday, we moved on to the first - that is, the surprising and tasty agnolotti of asparagus, caramelized parmesan and dehydrated cornflowers - before reaching two second courses that significantly explore the rustic simplicity of the Piedmont and Saluzzo land: mountain cheeses accompanied by three classic and appropriate sauces; and the very tender morsels of Fassone brut and bu-n cooked at low temperature and accompanied by a barbera sauce which recalls, reinterpreting it, a symbolic dish such as braised meat.
We conclude with four desserts, all equally elegant and some truly innovative: the Chantilly cream profiteroles; the sweet soup with apricot gel, meliga paste crumble and nougat flakes; the foamed tiramisu; and finally the panna cotta to which the Sichuan pepper gives a very pleasant aromatic and not at all spicy nuance.
Bill proportionate to the foods chosen and the wine that accompanied the entire lunch, taken from a list that is not huge but quite exhaustive: in our case, a 2023 Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato docg Bersano, with a complex bouquet despite its young age.

A place found by accident. Fantastic food, beautifully served. Very nice English-speaking staff. The place was decorated with taste. Delicious dishes presented picturesquely.
