Taverna Ripetta In Roma

This little taverna is full of character. We had a delicious meal with very good wine. It’s not a place for for brisk service, and they did bring us a cacio e pepe pasta instead of the carbonara we ordered but it is relaxed, friendly and comfortable.

The best restaurant in Rome. The four pastas, shrimp risotto and ravioli were all amazing. An authentic and cosy place with great service, large portions and good prices.

The food is spectacular, especially the octopus. At Taverna Ripetta, I had one of the best octopus dishes I've had in recent memory: tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I would definitely return for that dish alone. My companion had a steak served with arugula (I don't remember the exact name from the menu), which was also very well cooked. First, we shared prosciutto with melon and a glass of red wine. Everything was truly delicious, with no negative comments from the kitchen. The only thing that wasn't up to par was the service. It wasn't bad, but a bit disorganized. It's a very small place, maybe 15–20 seats, yet the two people serving seemed a bit confused: they were pacing back and forth, forgetting things, and taking their time clearing the table even when there were people waiting outside. I say this with full knowledge of the facts: I run a restaurant that seats 60 people and I know how important that detail is. That said, the quality of the food definitely outweighs any minor disorganization in the service. It's absolutely worth it. I'd go back for that octopus in a heartbeat.

Great food in a sweet little tavern. Better than any must-see restaurant I ate in Rome. Shrimp risotto and the pear tart of the day were unbelievable. Totally recommended!

Spectacular! A small, authentic place for 100% Italian food. The service was fantastic, and everything was delicious. We'll definitely come back if we return to Rome.

Our meal at Traverna Rippeta was a highlight of our trip! The mussels were the best we've ever had and our pastas were so tastey that we got a third just to enjoy what they had to offer. The atmosphere was cozy without being cramped and the women running the front felt like family by the time we left. Even the dog, Mo, was making sure everyone felt at home. Can't wait to get back some day!

A Taiwanese review: Filling, delicious, and a wide selection of seafood. Meals: Ordered shrimp risotto, seafood handmade pasta carbonara, octopus, and mussels. The shrimp risotto had a rich shrimp flavor but lacked any shrimp meat. The entire plate was filled with rice, with a slightly nutty texture. It wasn't too tough, but it was just a touch light, which Taiwanese people should be able to handle. The seafood handmade pasta menu said you could choose between pasta or gnocchi, but gnocchi weren't available that day, so the pasta itself was quite good. The portion was satisfying, and the seafood was stir-fried, making it less salty. The carbonara had a more pronounced egg flavor and was served with regular pasta. The mussels were average. The octopus had a very crispy skin, a bit like it had been battered and pan-fried. It came with a side salad and potatoes. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and tiramisu. The sparkling wine was not expensive, just over 20 euros, so if you're in a large group, I recommend opening the bottle right away. The tiramisu was okay, similar to what you'd find in Taiwan, but a bit sweet. The space inside the store is not big, and it seems that reservations are required, otherwise the owner will not accept it even if there is a vacant seat.

Great atmosphere and delicious food! The three ladies (including the little dachshund Mo) were very warm and attentive.
