Taverna Ripetta In Roma

This restaurant has been the highlight of our Rome tour so far. If you love shrimp, do yourself a favor and order the Shrimp Primi – it's like Shrimp Scampi but even better! Everything we ate was delicious, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Eating authentic food in Rome is a challenge, as it is almost impossible not to fall into tourist traps. Taverna Ripetta is the exception, run by its owners, the food respects the Roman essence. Delicious food and wonderful attention from the team, especially Donatella. Recommended are the Maltagliatti with guanciale and artichoke, and for dessert, the tiramisu. It will be time to return to the Taverna on the next visit to Rome

Very enjoyable meal and seeing the two ladies who own the restaurant work the room with only speaking very little English. Met a nice couple sitting next to us who flew in just to go to dinner at Ripetta! They apparently had been there before and had such a great experience they went way out of their way to eat there again.

This was, far and away, some of the very best food and service that we enjoyed during our two-week trip to Italy, and that includes our travels outside Rome. We enjoyed it so much that made sure to reserve again for one of last nights during our second leg in Rome. You cannot beat the ambiance: the warm hospitality of the friendly owners (and their dachshund!) the simple comforts of their inviting dining room; and the pleasing company of regulars, who must already know how good their dinners will be. I have posted some photos of the excellent courses that we enjoyed, including some of the best seafood pasta and seafood risotto dishes I’ve ever enjoyed, alongside a humbly delicious and affordable Sardinian wine that one of the owners expertly picked out for us. Not pictured is something my wife enjoyed during our first visit: some of the best ravioli I’ve ever eaten (alla Norma!) Make sure to reserve for dinner here if you’re in the area and want an authentic dining experience with some of Rome’s finest hosts, cooks, and guests!

Two slightly crazy ladies make an unforgettable Roman evening with excellent food. Never had such good carbonara before. Tiramisu divine 👏 Grazie 🥰

Atmosphere is great, very relaxed and welcoming! The two "nonnas" who run the restaurant are delightful! One speaks just a little English and the other speaks even less, so be ready to be polite and understanding. Food seemed traditional, fresh and flavorful.

Tiny and charming. There may be four employees. This place is casual but the food is superb as is the house wine. The two mature women who are the waitstaff were attentive and great fun. Totally not stuffy.
