La Taverna di Bibbiano is one of those places that seems to have been lifted straight from a postcard in the Sienese countryside, yet it has a touch of authenticity that's often missing from overly touristy establishments. Located between Colle di Val d'Elsa and San Gimignano, with a view of the vineyards that's worth the trip alone, the Taverna's cuisine embraces a revisited take on rural tradition. As you can see from the photos, I ordered a plate of ricotta and spinach-filled ravioli wrapped in a delicate pumpkin cream, a perfect pairing that creates an incredibly balanced contrast between sweet and savory. For my second course, a perfectly golden and crispy chicken roulade, sliced ​​to reveal the rich filling inside. The juicy chicken, flavorful sausage, and strips of candied orange peel, which add a touch of color and a citrusy aroma, are clearly visible. The dish is served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and garnished with crunchy pistachio crumbs, creating a truly fabulous combination for the palate. A very beautiful restaurant with a wonderful view. Despite the weather, the staff made my birthday party wonderful!! A very well-kept venue, with a quiet and welcoming atmosphere. The waiters were professional, attentive, and helpful. The food was delicious and the kitchen was punctual. Highly recommended!

22/07/2025: I stopped at Baccus L’Osteria after a morning of sightseeing and it turned out to be a charming little place with a few quirks worth knowing about. First off, the owner is genuinely delightful—he greets everyone like an old friend and checks in throughout the meal to make sure you’re happy. Cell-phone reception, however, is pretty much nonexistent inside (my carrier showed zero bars), so don’t count on mobile data. Luckily the restaurant’s Wi-Fi is fast and free, so you can still post that plate shot to Instagram. Food-wise, everything I tried was spot-on flavor-wise. The catch? Portions lean on the small side while prices sit firmly in the “treat yourself” bracket. I left satisfied but could have handled another forkful or two, especially at €22 for a main. Practical notes: they take all major credit cards (no awkward cash scramble), and small dogs are welcomed with a bowl of water and a scratch behind the ears. Because the dining room fills up fast—especially on summer weekends—booking ahead is a smart move. Bottom line: come for the warm hospitality and beautifully executed dishes, just be prepared to pay premium prices for modest portions. A little more food on the plate would turn a good experience into a great one.

18/11/2025: I had the four-cheese pizza with burrata and I really liked it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I recommend it to everyone.
09/11/2025: We visited this restaurant during our stay in Siena. Everything was good, in the best sense of the word. The ribollita and pici were tasty, without too many frills, and they kept us company like an old friend who may not surprise, but never disappoints. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet.
